lol yeah right. The doctor said...no cooking, cleaning vacuuming or anything, try not to move around too much so baby can get as much blood/nutrients from me as possible...

And thank goodness DBF was there to hear the doctors words... Cause I had two days.

It's hard because I have flipping four doctor appointments a week!

And then DBF works 6 days a week, and close to 80 hours a week, and he takes me to the majority of the appointments, and then head to work a 12+ hour shift in a busy restaurant, and on his one day off, he does the laundry, vacuuming, tidying etc. so I feel bad when after a long day of work, he has to stop by and get McDs or something.

So I try to make something he can eat for two days, so I only have to cook/clean once, but it's so taxing, as I have two dogs too and one is a crazy intact puppy (getting fixed Monday, thank goodness!), and going to the docs alone...

But seriously? I think I'll get more rest once this baby is popped, because she's also been sitting on a nerve for months and I can't wait to get at least relief from that! lol

And then once baby is here, DBF is taking off to care for us both, and then my mom is taking off.

Ok, enough complaining. lol

Two more weeks though, and she'll be here! I have my induction appointment already, but hopefully she'll show up on her own!

do you guys watch a lot of movies? i actually don't watch many at all, and it sounds like there's not much overlap between what i like and what you like. i'm probably not the best person to recommend stuff.

I used to think that too when I was young, but the drive is totally killer :m ad: If you can also go the long way and see the coast, which is BEAUTIFUL, but an EVEN LONGER drive.

I'm trying to figure where that is since I feel like SD is pretty down there already! :l ol:

Red and nerdi is right, it's a documentary. It's not only about food, but the exquisite and painstaking methods Jiro goes to ensure his food is the way he wants it. And I also saw it as a philosophy on life. It was just overall great! Great score, great camera angles, production value, etc...just overall well rounded. I was hungry the whole entire time :sh ake:

If you want a loveable puppy, but heart wrenching movie, try Hachi: A Dog's Tale. Beautiful move. I love dogs and I already knew about the real life story and the take on it is just wonderful.

I highly enjoyed the TV miniseries "The Kennedys" I definitely recommend that.

I want to watch Gangster Squad! I LOOOOOOOVED Public Enemy. I really like throwback movies and period pieces. I like gangster movies :hi de: The Untouchables. I think Iike what the women wore and how the men were always dressed up to anything they go to!

I also enjoy some superhero ones. I really liked The Amazing Superman. The Avengers. And the new Batman series reboot. The Watchmen was good too!
Of course the Ocean's series :n od: I liked the Bourne Series with Matt Damon, The Adjustment Bureau, The Tourist (Jolie & Depp are amazing in that)

For Sci-Fi, Super 8 kept me on my seat. Inception is AMAZING.

I can't think of anything else...my memory is lacking :shak e:

I am not really a movie goer and when I do watch something, I pick and choose. I go to the theatres for the REALLY REALLY REALLY good ones. I only want to watch the good stuff. But some others I just let it run in the background when I'm doing something else if it's too quiet and I don't feel like listening to music.

be prepared with teabags if you watch hachi. i love/hate those movies. i always end up crying my eyes out.

i think i liked all the other movies you mentioned azn. i do like the summer blockbusters, but only the ones that don't have stupid dialogue. i especially liked the avengers bc i thought it was well-written (but the ironman series all were also). i despise movies that are all action and crappy dialogue - i can't handle it!

i never saw watchmen or the new spiderman. or the adjustment bureau. or super 8. i enjoyed the tourist and love the bourne series as well.

chick flicks... i can watch the mediocre ones and i do like the good ones, but some of the overly sappy ones (read: the notebook) i just cannot stand. i usually watch those by myself when i'm in a certain mood tho. i won't put DH through them. i tend to watch them for the actors/actresses tho. i :hea rt: rachel mcadams so i will probably watch any of her movies whether good or bad.

If you want the short inseam, I would buy them now. That one usually goes first. But I have bought them for $9.99-14.99 in the past, there is very selection left in colors/sizes though at that price. If you don't want to match it to the coordinating hoodie, you could wait.

I ordered the velour pant/hoodie clearance sets in temptress red and rose with the 20% off code and fs last week. I think the red jacket is already sold out. I was planning to wear them in the hospital after I deliver, when we have visitors. I ordered up 1 size from my usual, hopefully they will fit.

That's a very cultural phenomenon. In college, it was 3 against 1 in the debate over whether to be a shoes-off household. 3 caucasians, 1 japanese. I remember sitting on her bed and my shoes brushed against her dust ruffle and she freaked out :l ol: Yes, we had a dirty carpet - it was college though, I'm not going barefoot anywhere! In HS, my boyF (Chinese) and his fam didn't say anything but I could tell I should take my shoes off, so I did. Another boyF (Taiwanese) it was the same. Only a select few caucasian households I knew had that rule and it was because they had lily-white carpets. FWIW, we are now a shoes-off household. I can appreciate not tracking dirt in b/c I don't want to have to wash the carpets :no d:

ETA- this makes me think of how my mom measures how great a carpet is by how much dirt it hides, whereas others - focus on not getting it dirty in the first place :lm ao:

It's very far. DH is from SJ, so we're up in the vicinity several times a year- taking the train over to the city. The smell of piss in some of those cars burns my nostrils :sic k: ... it was time for a break!
SD is 2.25 hrs for me, SF is 6 hrs. I'm good for SD (I grew up there), but I can't speak for everyone else. We could meet you in Newport Beach or something - you could see Crystal Cove, where they filmed the Bette Midler movie 'Beaches'. There's a restaurant on the beach too that's really good. I'll leave it to Azn, she seems to be the SoCal SD Ambassador :lo l:

So funny, I was going to go that route too about historical influences. I was thinking here- living on the praire or during the Dustbowl- they didn't have a chance to avoid dirt and religious and spiritual sites that are not Eastern do not stress those things (that I know of). I hope you didn't think I was implying that everyone freaks out :com fort: , the roomy was the only one that did.

my bf is the biggest movie fanatic. we're watching a few movies a week-i have a bad memory so most of the time i dont remember the movies i watch!

o my goodness. i cant stand the drive from La to SF. its 6 hrs for me... i remember driving back one time with DBF's car and i totally sped. they clocked me at 82 and I was actually over 100 at times-good thing they didnt catch me then :l ol:

I must be a weird Asian. lol. Actually, I know I am. : ). I never grew up with the no shoes in the house rule.... So...I too rarely take my shoes off.... Even when I go to other Asian people's house... I know they notice.... But... :don tknow: DBF's mom... The only thing she can complain about... Was me wearing shoes in her house, lol.... So now when I go over there, I take 'em off.... But... I'm usually wearing boots... And I'm heavily pregnant.... So I think she feels kind of bad now because it's her son who has to remove/put my shoes on for me....as there's no where for me to sit to do so myself! lol

We hardly ever watch a movie. You'd think we'd watch more at home, since we have so many options. I'm usually watching a ballgame of some kind at night. We're too cheap to go to the theater, unless it's for a special occasion. We went for Valentine's Day last year to dine during the movie, & haven't been back since.

We like the Bourne series a lot. The bolded movies all sound good. I'll have to give DH the list. I'm not much for superhero movies, but DH likes them. Occasionally, I watch one to appease him. I don't think we've seen Public Enemy. I'll have to ask DH. If not, we'll try to watch that too. Thanks for all the suggestions.

I love Julia Roberts. She was the star in some great movies, when I was young. I haven't seen any of her recent movies. I also like Jennifer Aniston okay. She seems to choose horrible movies though. She really needs to let someone else choose her movies for her.

Oh no, it sounds like I should avoid Hachi. Some commercials make me cry. When we watch what I consider a sad show/movie, my guys make fun of me for crying.

I don't like the dumb chick flicks either. They need to have some substance to them for me to watch them.

I thought our interstate travel was bad, but yours must be worse. From the way you all make it sound, driving to SF would get old fast to us too.

My DH will watch anything I ask him to, even if he'd rather not. Water for Elephants sounds familiar. I'll have to look it up to see if we've watched it. I know we haven't watched any of the others. I'll add them to the list. Thanks

don't watch magic mike. your DH will not appreciate it. that's something you watch on your own, if you want to see half naked beefy guys dance. i think it's set either in your town or somewhere close to you tho. a couple of my gf's and i watched it as a precursor to my bachelorette party, if that's any clue.
