Flutter sleeve shift dress in xs. Come to think of it, s might work for me. But I like that it's loose but not that loose. I would have preferred it to be maybe another 2" longer.
Lace drop waist dress in 4
Peekaboo lace cap sleeve sheath dress in 2 - looking at the photo I don't think this dress is very flattering on me. Could be kuz I'm bloated right now (totm started today). May not keep this one after all!

I have a question for you girls about sun exposure, skin damage and protection. I tried to do some research, but got all kinds of conflicting or unhelpful information. For some background, I just got back from my vacation, and for my camping portion I got some terrible sunburn. For multiple reasons, I had very few options for staying out of the sun and I kept applying a broad spectrum SPF 70, but still burned. When I was younger, I would rarely burn and when I did it was not bad. I also used to be outside a lot more, and would get a gradual tan. I don't really like the look of a tan, so I don't take time out of my busy schedule to intentionally spend time in the sun and I'm usually not in direct sunlight with my job even when I am outside. I don't want to get awful, painful burns though when I am in a situation where I am in direct sunlight for long enough that sunscreen is not entirely effective. So my question comes to: which is better in regard to long-term skin damage, a gradual tan, or infrequent, but rather bad sunburn?

Sorry to hear about the sunburn. I hope you're healing quickly.

I'm no science major, but I'm of the opinion that a gradual tan is much better and could be safer for your skin. In my mind, I think there's so much cell damage with such a drastic sun burn that it may cause skin cancer. I do not know anything about skin cancer, so don't take my word, but I know that's something I'm deathly afraid of, but with a gradual tan, the cells aren't destroyed in the way a burn would be. But that's just my opinion.

I also tan rather quickly, but make all effort to always put on SPF 60+ sunblock when I'm out in the sun for extended periods of time.

I think it's over but I still feel horrible. It's amazing how kids take getting sock. Ds wasn't near as bad as I've been.

That's what I've heard too. It's the major burns that cause the most damage.

nice! i've been eyeing that for awhile! did you get the yellow? the coral one isn't that bright.

hehe i'd ask to be notified of the tick tock stacking sale if it ever happens again, but both you and azn tried. it was entirely my fault - my phone was in my car and i didn't realize it until later. Facepalm sadly, i even prepped for it by adding stuff to my cart. much help that was... laugh out loud

Pink/coral.
I was preparing when it happened. I then had to add stuff quickly.

Thanks. I agree with your logic. I'm not worried about cancer so much as aging. Basal cell carcinoma has come up a few times in my family so I am kind of desensitized. Unlike cancer though, aging is inevitable. I'm 26 and am really starting to see changes in my skin and it's making me a little paranoid. I always try to protect myself from the sun, but I might start making an effort to get outside a little more to get a "base tan" for a little extra protection for the times I don't have a lot of options.

i altered the black lace peplum at the straps. looks better, with the armholes smaller and the neckline and waist raised higher. it is still a little loose overall, but i don't mind it. i'm happy with how it turned out. thanks for encouraging me to alter it.
That's a good idea. I'm glad it worked out for you. I'm having a hard time finding a bra to work with it. Shortening the straps may work. Thanks for the tip.

Another version of the mixed media dress. Maybe this is better than the black/white stripe I got at tick tock.

I want to try some dresses too but I can't seem to pay more than $30 for a dress.
I sometimes think you & I are too cheap for even SD. laugh out loud I wore my new shoes, btw. As I feared, they stretched with wear. Other than that, I still really like them. I'm going to try heel inserts to attempt to stop the flopping up & down on my foot. Hopefully, that will fix the problem. I've already thrown the boxes away, so I have to find some way to make them work.

i thought it was only shorts that got bonus points, not skirts.

looks like i got bonus points for all those cotton sateen skirts i ordered. it's doing the same thing where it's not showing up in the itemized list but there are definitely some bonuses in the total.

*edit*
looks like they're adding it correctly. those skirts just earned me 2500 points. :w oot: thanks for mentioning them here alvs!

Unfortunately, this would be a case of the lesser of two evils. A really bad sunburn could raise your chances of getting cancer. As long as you don't constantly get bad sunburns, long term tanning could be worse. Long term tanning will definitely age your skin more. Also, continued tanning over many years increases your chances of melanoma. (My DH is outside a lot & always has a dark tan. That really worries me.) Like you, I've quit trying to get a tan & take a bath in sunblock. Rarely, I'll get a pretty bad burn, but I consider that preferable to looking older. As long as you're not blistering your skin frequently, you should be okay. Naturally, like most things, there's probably not one hard & fast answer. Most professional opinions would probably depend on which product lobby was willing to pay the study the most money. Rolleyes2 You just have to go with the option you feel most comfortable with. Obviously, doing neither is the best option, but that's not always practical.

ETA: While I was taking forever to reply, I see your main concern is aging. That's my concern for me also. In that case, I think we're better off with the occasional sunburn. JMO
