Sorry you're getting bombarded with all the little nuggets of wisdom all at once. Unfortunately, that can happen, when you don't see family often. I hope everyone can stop with the comment's & advice, so you can enjoy your trip. hug

The chance of me completely quitting work is getting high. I need to wear makeup and dress nicely at home, otherwise all the shopping I've been doing is a waste.
I know how you feel. I've worn less than 1/2 of the clothes I've bought in the past year. Most of that was worn once on vacation.shake head

Quote from smilinghelen :
I'm scared of using liquid formula.. DH's mom has mentioned several times about how when he was little, he would projectile vomit every time she gave him liquid formula.. Don't know if it'll happen to DS, so I'm using powdered enfamil infant right now, I have similac advance for later, and a bunch of gerber goodstart

Every single time I've gone to the doctors office for the baby's well visits, (2 weeks, 1 month, 2 months, 4 months and now this 6 month visit) I've asked for formula samples. They give me 2-3 8oz powder cans .. each can lasts 2 days approximately after I reconstitute it. I'd say that amounts to almost a month of free formula.. : ) They've given me free playtex bottles and drop in samples for them, but I haven't used them, and now that the nipple speed has changed, I'll probably donate them..
From the time I quit breast feeding, until we weaned DS off formula, I used liquid formula. I was too lazy for powder. Embarrassment I'm sure you could find one that works for him. We went through a few, before finding one that worked for DS. Although, if I was getting it for free, I'd stick with the powder formula. You can't beat free.

Me either. I don't like faces on anything, unless it's someone in my family. I don't even like paintings with random people in them.

I guess that's what they are. We call them butter beans in Alabama. I'm so country :l ol:!
You can appreciate this story. I'll never forget my deceased sister, her DH, & little girl coming to visit us many years ago. Her DD & my DS were probably around 8 & 10. They had a major argument on the way to Disney. It was over beans. Stick Out Tongue My niece said she wanted some soup beans. My DS asked what soup beans were, so I told him what she was talking about. That ignited a fight that lasted until we got there over soup beans vs. pinto beans. Neither was willing to concede they were wrong. laugh out loud

That palette would be perfect, if the black shadow was purple. I need a build your own palette option for a decent price.

i try to make it a point to return something if the return window is closing and i still haven't worn it. there are still some pieces that slip by though... and every time i see them hanging in the closet they bug me. yall make me feel better about it tho. Teehee

i often only wear things once. i've been donating a lot of stuff lately. i've even started throwing some express "lay flat to dry" tees in the dryer. i just did this yesterday and it came out super soft, though possibly shorter. i'll have to try it later to see if it killed it - but they were so cheap that i may just have to start ruining them so i can wear the new ones. it's called a z-palette! Teehee

seriously though - that's the best way to do it. depot and put in your own custom palette.

and i disagree - black shadow has a lot of uses. one very important one is that it can sub as eyeliner. i would instead replace one of the chalky light ones... like the light beige or light pink. they swatch very similarly and imo it's unnecessary to have both in 1 basics palette:

Sure, make yourself feel better better at our expense. Bonk

I should have added a qualifier that purple would make it a perfect palette for me. I don't wear black shadow or liner. They're too bold for me. The only black I wear is mascara.

I just want the last week of staying at home to tidy up and be chill before I start my new gig, but everyday, something has come up Mad Microwave was shooting sparks today from the side of the inside (heated food only in a bowl), ants crawling out of the chimney, dealing with aunt and cousin Faint Just.want.to.relax Cool

Quote from PordaPoddy :
They're huge and I don't like dragging them out. Yes - use your shadows whenever you leave the house. I have yet to finish a shadow :teehe e:

I think if it were a constant drone of noise I would like it better than the one girl... like when it's a crowd of people it can become background noise. Can we trade? :ton gue: One girl here screams like someone's pulling her toenails out one by one - that crap is just stupid and IMO dangerous for her mom to let her do - how do I distinguish that from "Help, someone is trying to abduct me!" ?? :an gry: I feel like we're biologically tuned to respond to that pitch... and when she abuses that during play, it dulls my internal alert system :scra tch: You should have seen us looking at a house last weekend... I was :drool 2: over double-paned windows. :l ol:
Usually I am too lazy to put on makeup when going out, especially if I am running out of time. I only do it when I'm seeing friends Big Grin I have gotten lazy and not done it around DBF when he visits because I feel like it takes time away that I could be spending with him while I pretty up! laugh out loud

Hm...constant high pitched screams, like the girl? Naaah, not cool. I totally know what scream you are talking about. I hear it every day. It's okay if it's just like a constant sound of talking, but no, it is the same kind of shriek I imagine you hear. Many a times, I close my double paned window AND IT STILL GOES THROUGH. MUCH better, but I can hear it. STILL. Just FYI about those windows

Although, I might add that they do quell the noise quite nicely, but you can still hear things. Of course there are other benefits as well, but don't count on blocking it out 100% Maybe when we have our little summer fun, I'd get to see your new digs Big Grin Good luck hunting! look around

Quote from nerdicus :
So true! And it's quite difficult to make even a dent in a shadow or blush, let alone finish one. It's also a catch 22 - if you finish one you must REALLY like it... So you'll need to replace your favorite shadow.

I hear ya about the noise. Bothers the heck out of me too. It's weird - I've had more interactions with babies lately (I must be that age) and none of my friends' children scream like that. :do ntknow: hopefully if I become a parent I'll know how to control my child and teach them not to be annoying.
I think for me, when I hit the pan and finished that one shadow, I was able to find a replacement quite nicely. I think I realized I have too many...and can't/shouldn't replace any til they're at a manageable level. Smilie But I can't help buying new ones! shake head

Based on my experience with my cousin's kids, who are all around running around screaming age, I think they mostly think "screw it, they can do whatever they want." I personally would discipline the heck out of them, but I guess at the end of the day, the parents are tired and don't give a crap anymore Dontknow Le sigh. If only kids were all born well behaved.

they're the same length as the sailor shorts. if you can tolerate those you'll be ok with the crochet lace ones also. though, the sailor shorts sit lower on the waist for me and thus feel longer.
what did you think of the trouser shorts? those are also 2" and are probably about the same length. those feel shorter on me than the sailor shorts for some reason.

Thanks for the comparison. I haven't tired the trouser shorts only the 4 1/2", sailor, & frayed denim shorts. I just noticed the crochet shorts are hand wash, so I think I'll pass. Hand washing is a pain. Plus, I like my clothes to come out of the dryer soft & Downy fresh. Teehee

nod I treat eye makeup like it's made out of gold. I still can't make myself throw out old mascara...I have a stockpile of new ones that's probably going bad on me but I can't make the transition. Warnings of eye infections don't deter me. It feels too wasteful Crazy

I totally understand tantrums and can deal with them...but this is part of her everyday play. My friends have toddlers now and they're very well behaved too, hopefully yours can keep it up.

Bummer. You could try breaking it up in the pan , dropping in rubbing alcohol and re-pressing it with an old GC cut to the size of the pan when some of the alcohol evaporates off...

Are there any really good short youtube videos for how to apply eyeliner and eyeshadow that anyone recommends. Really klutz proof videos. I don't use any makeup other than lipgloss and my mom never showed me how to apply anything other than blush. I still don't know how to apply eyeshadow in order to avoid raccoon eyes and when these pallettes come in from urban decay, I'd like to surprise DH. Embarrassment
I struggled with it too and my mom was no help either. I don't have a video for you b/c I could never replicate them... but the best techniques that have worked for me are -
- Pencil liner - try it on the hand first, if it's not gliding smoothly, tissue off the dried outer layer of liner, then re-try. (can also warm the stick up in your hands). For application, I do short sweeps (sometimes stabs Teehee ) above the lash line, starting from outside corner working in. I'm aiming for the base of the hair follicle of my lashes. Sometimes I get liner in the hair, but that's an easy fix w/ a Q-tip. I add the swept up corners at the end of application. I think it takes me 10-15 swipes to make a continuous line all the way across. Helps keep my line tight to the lash and the saturation of color consistent.
- Gel liner - My Stila smudgepots dry out on me so I always wipe a little off the top with a tissue to get at the smoother stuff. I use a brush and do maybe 2 long sweeps across.

ETA - you know who should be able to help? AYA!

ComfortThat sounds like a lot to deal with... Yes in my dreams, I have triple paned windows haha. At the money pit we have double paned windows, but people go 55mph - semis, motorcycles, etc... so it dulls it but was a constant source of stress. Can you schedule a massage, facial, pedicure or something before you start next week?

Yeah, the regular milk by the gallon. They start giving it at 1.

For us, it is the water from cooking rice.

My mom saw a dad feeding a baby at Costco. She asked, "How old is that baby?". The father answered proudly, "4 months old".. My mom starting freaking out, she went, "You can't feed a baby hot dog pieces at that age". The dad said "It's fine. We started her on food." and then proceeded to ignore my mom... French fries are a heck of alot safer than hot dog pieces.. DH occasionally chokes on a piece of hot dog and he's fully grown..
I saw one time a toddler (probably less than 2) being given soda at the grocery store.

Try Emilynoel or makeupgeektv. They should have some basics video. I'll see if I can find some. I can not promise they'll be short... They make them long for beginners... Long being 10 to 15 mins.
Quote from nerdicus :
did some express next points accounting - everything is accounted for except an order on 5/23 for shorts. this must have been the memorial day sale, first day, wed night. going to email them for those points now.

i did get negative points for my PA's fyi. i thought someone mention that they never got negs for PA's so i thought i would report that i did.
I always get neg for pa. They neg so quickly.
