So how would you recommend bringing it up then? That's what I'm struggling with. My thought was to wait until things had escalated physically - which could be several more dates/weeks with both of these girls - before even beginning to talk about "going steady" (for lack of a better term). That also gives me time to decide which of them I want to be with, and, I presume, them more time for similar contemplation. In fact waiting a while longer may well take the choice out of my hands if that makes any sense.

I just can't see a positive side to blurting out anything about dating other girls this early on in the relationships. But I could also be rationalizing some pretty selfish motives to arrive at that conclusion.

Just ask. "Are we exclusive?" or "How do you feel about being exclusive?" If you wait until it gets physical of course the answer will be yes. Women want to get laid just as badly as men. Then you have to wonder if she's reconsidering once she gets what she wants. Honesty is always the best policy IMO.

seriously, the *work* was essential before entering into current relationship/marriage. laid as solid a foundation as i learned to do before escalating/short cutting matters. i look at it like building a pyramid, with a large foundation to start
