How much does it normally cost to get a windshield fixed or replaced?
When I did the online quote thing (full replacement, I have a few chips and long cracks) for the Jeep, it was ~180 if I took it in, or thirty bucks more if they came out to me. I think with their shop where it is, I could just drop it off and walk somewhere to get lunch, then pick it up afterwards.

Looks like it is going to be $100 if they can repair it.

I'm tempted to automatically reject any incoming feature requests that have typos or bad grammar in them.

I was going to include stupid requests in that too, but then I'd probably be out of a job.

But I can prevent today's stupid from occurring tomorrow.
Tomorrow we get to see the birth of a new kind of stupid.

Oh, if only they were dreams... literally hundreds of hours spent rewriting software to disallow users from doing things they were trained not to do or shouldn't have done, only for them to find new ways to cause problems.

I had a huuuge long crack on my windshild, so the whole thing needed replaced and it was only like $220 because they had a deal going and they even came to me. Did it while I was at work.

It was awesome!

You mean like simply logging out when they leave? We've spent tens of thousands of dollars writing, testing, and implementing code just we can back people out when they leave. We have millions of prompts that a person could be sitting at, and the code has to be specific for each one. All because operations management refuses to tell their guys to log out. What a waste of money.

I was going to get it fixed on saturday, but I just got a meeting request to come in to the office all day on saturday to make sure the programmers have finished their work so I can start testing on monday. i'm not a farking developer! it's not my job to make sure someone else does theirs! if they want me to, they should pay me to! i'm sick of being a shill for this company.

Build a better mouse trap and along come smarter mice.

Build a system even a fool can use, and only a fool will use it.

I have this exact problem. It's an endless cycle. At least it keeps me employed.

Being a web application actually made that part reasonably easy on us, since every page load calls the same method to pass a security check. That and having a section that auto-refreshes every ten minutes, if that auto-refresh is the only thing that happens for x amount of time, it kicks you out. I don't need you consuming my system resources because you can't be arsed to log out Nono2

We're on an old unidata pick system from the 60s. laugh out loud it's all terminal emulation.
