Let me try to explain the way I think about it. The essential difference is that one is a phrase (intelligent design), the other is a model (evolution). Evolution gives predictability. Predictability that can be mathematically modeled. We can say, "Given what we know of typical mutation rates, and the assumed distance of the last common ancestor of these two species, there is an n% probability of finding this same antigen in the blood of both."

The alternative is not symmetrical. "Some intelligent being did it," allows extrapolation, certainly, but none of those extrapolations have any more rigor than the original assumption. And the open-ness of the first assumption renders ALL extrapolations non-falsifiable. Consequently, to say some intelligent being did it takes faith. To say it just happened takes just as much faith. Neither can be proven.

Did dogs evolve from wolves? What about Cro-mags and homo-xxxxx skulls and skeletons? I'd consider bones pretty solid proof.

No. One species can't become another species. If you put a mule in to the water and leave it for millions of years it will not because a dolphin or some other variant.

As for the skeletons, some have been debunked as frauds, others as mutations, and still others have. I remember learning about one in school and then studying the same one on my own through other books to find that the tests run on the skeleton show it had a vitamin K deficiency which resulted in the extremely hunched back. The fact that the skeleton was found in a cave and dated back to an ice age is pretty good evidence of a cause of the vitamin K deficiency. That said, I am not an expert of the "human-like" fossil records.

Thank god the gf has a good libido. That's all I'll say.

No sugar for Lent has been fine so far but I got strong cravings today when the client I'm at ordered pastries for their big meeting. That they ambushed me with this morning. That I had to set up a huge conference room for on 5 minutes' notice. Mad It was a shitshow and they're lucky I was here & came early.
