So I'm booked every night for the next six months.
Monday: Bible study
Tuesday: Baseball practice
Wednesday: 4-H shooting club
Thursday: Club meeting
Friday: Baseball practice

And then of course a baseball game every Saturday or Sunday.

What about raising chickens to eat? I've thought about it but I'm to squeamish to kill them and depluck them.
That's in the plans, but not quite yet. They'd be in a different enclosure than the egg laying chickens.

Interesting color. I wonder what kind a chicken laid it. My dad's chickens lay brown eggs.

That's a rough schedule.

How much land is the compound?

It's delicious and very light. I remember mom making it and hanging the ball/cheesecloth on the clothesline to set
It's great alone with salt or on a sandwich

They are perfectly happy with watching Poppy do these things. They really are fascinated to know where each of their foods come from. You should see them in the spring when they get to watch the food go from the ground to their plate. Everything, and I mean everything, The Dude eats must have an explanation of where it came from or he won't eat it.

It's 5 acres. The house, pool, and outbuildings all sit on about 3/4 to 1 acre, and the rest is slowing being developed. What pisses me if is that I can have someone come in and clear and grade the land in one day for about $1500, but since I'm doing it on my own it will take me another 2 or 3 years to get it ready for planting grass and fruit trees. Then you've got to let the grass grow and establish for another 2 years before you can have livestock on it.

my Mama has 6 laying hens right now that produce brown eggs and blue eggs. the blue ones are very light colored and could possibly pass for a light green sometimes. it's pretty awesome actually.

chewy, 10 hens means 10 eggs a day. those hens pop out an egg every damned day. that's a lot of frickin' eggs LMAO

Are they all fond of eating meat? Like- they know a pork roast is pig- do they ask why don't we eat Kevin? Or just accept that's how it is.

Would you have a goat? Some people like goat milk. Or sheep? Would you have a use for the wool? I hear they both can be mean but I think they are cute.

We go through about 40 to 50 eggs a week since it goes in to a lot of our cooking. I think that would give me a dozen or so to sell at work. I'm not going to give them the genetically modified food that makes them lay eggs without a rooster around. I'll just put a rooster in there with them.

They love meat . . . especially chicken. They've never asked why we don't eat Kevin, but she's been such a pain in the ass that I've brought it up a time or two. laugh out loud

Goats are too dirty, but we've thought about a few sheep. Mmmmmm.....lamb chops.
