The biggest question mark is the AC, I need to take it somewhere and see what they'd charge me to get it working. It could potentially be very expensive.

The fundamentals of it aren't complicated, but the proper equipment = Greedy
One of my friends was part of a 3000GT/Stealth club, and for one of their activities, one of the members that owned or worked at shop with all the fancy AC equipment arranged to have an event where they could spend the day getting everyone's stuff fixed. That's what I need laugh out loud

perhaps you could wrangle together a meetup and for your efforts in bringing in all the peeps, your repairs would be comp'd? there's a glut of those mb's in my area. don't know about where you are

dh had a neighborhood german mb professional loan him w/special tools & such, yet dh still spent moola on those mb's Annoyed

There aren't a lot of them around here that I've ever noticed, and I haven't had much luck tracking them down in the salvage yards here. Possibly more in the city. There IS a Eastern Nebraska MB club, I'm looking into finding out more about it, not sure how much of it is classic/vintage.
The guys on the forums I've been going through have found ways to make most of the special tools necessary.

If I convert it to run on vegetable oil, does that move me back to the hippie camp?
FWIW, this one doesn't even have leather seats. They're "MB-Tex".
I drove the Jeep today for the first time in a week and a half, weird how much smaller the steering wheel is.

I had a friend who Always put political stickers all over his car, every election. Even local and county stuff, so he always had something new there. And those suckers were glued on. I never understood that at all. And when you see these cars on the highway- with a decade old sticker of losing candidates- WHY??? Confused
