Just give me a little notice. I'll need to buy a ton of daisies (enough to cover the floors in my apartment) so it appears to be a "field" of daisies. Then I'll need one of those large utility fans, so I can simulate the "breeze" blowing through your hair. Sly

Sorry I wasn't here to advise you sooner. Thank goodness for F1, though. My router and modem decided to start arguing with each other this afternoon, and I'm using my iPhone for internet access right now. Annoyed
No worries VF, I can't do anything until Monday morning. They're closed until 7am Monday.

It seems the modem and the router fail to negotiate a gigabit ethernet network connection, then both pretend the other isn't there. WTF??

Did you check the engine? Are you sure one of the cylinders isn't misfiring? Maybe you're out of oil. Annoyed

I'll bet his bit bucket was full. You have to empty that every so often.

To say the very least. From what I've been able to gather on the web, it's the stupid modem's fault, not the router. Guys with the same router say it's a hardware issue, too because it persists regardless of the firmware they're running on the router. Totally unacceptable in this 21st century. We went through this same shit when 100 Mbit "fast" ethernet was introduced, if I remember correctly.

It's hard to imagine the plugs costing over $20 each, even that seems like a stretch. I'd wonder if they plan to do the plug wires too, those probably wouldn't be covered under your warranty, and you may not need them--given your current financial situation, if they aren't causing the misfire, they'll probably last you a while longer.
Cracked wires are far more likely to cause misfires. I used to have to replace them in the MR2 all the time.

I would do racing plugs, high performance wires, cap and rotor and the total cost of parts would be in the $70 range. My guess is it's parts plus stupid expensive labor.

AG, find a somewhat car-savvy guy. Plugs and wires is one of the easiest car jobs to do. Cap and rotor is only difficult if it's in a crappy place on the car, but if it's not then it's like 4 screws and a snap on piece.

LOL!

Never have there been to more disparate novel-to-movie conversions.

I Am Legend the book: A work of genius WAY ahead of its time in the sci-fi/ vampire genre while also dropping an awesome philosophical bomb on you that you never saw coming.

I Am Legend the moive: Will Smith fights vampires.

Classic.

It's not too hard to check if the wires are the problem, though.

I went up to my local watering hole and talked to my bartender friend tonight. He said that the spark plugs going bad on just one side is likely a fuel injection thing, and the reason they said $180 is because that's the cost of 3 spark plugs/wires and a fuel injection cleaning, along with crazy expensive labor. Does that sound more reasonable?

He also said to get the bad plugs/wires from them. Doing that will help give me peace of mind, knowing they're really in need of fixing.
