A system went down yesterday (not one of mine), and I'm responsible for a job that generates reports based on the output of that system. I sent the guy that oversees the account those reports are for an email yesterday to let him know that he wouldn't be getting reports today. He responded that he already knew and didn't expect to receive them.
So today, right as I'm getting on a conference call, he stops by to let me know that he knew he wouldn't be getting the reports.

I'm still sad they changed the survey reward, it used to be a free roast beef sandwich. Now it's free mozz sticks (which I like in general, but theirs are fairly "meh", and the "marinara" is barely passable), or a BOGO on roast beef sandwiches.

So I'm writing an application for the company I work for. Front end, back end, everything. They've (after I started the project) assigned the UI design to our marketing department (who have no experience in UI, mind you). I've been back and forthing with their graphic designer on design ideas as she is sending them to me. I was just trying to help and present other takes on what she sends...

This morning she brought the project manager to my desk for him to tell me "Put everything in as she gives it to you, then we'll have a meeting with everyone to discuss the final product."

All I heard was "My ideas are right, I don't care about other options." I'm glad I'm not ridiculously headstrong and wrong enough to be management...

True story, this. Someone who was on the cc: list of an e-mail asked for the e-mail address and proper name of the person I added to the e-mail thread. Facepalm Of course I responded with "check the To: line of my message, I added the individual there." I also yellow-highlighted the person's e-mail address and proper name, just in case.

It's shocking how ignorant most people are, these days. Why is it these people don't kill themselves sooner??
