I've been texting Canada girl since I got home Happy
(She actually sent me the first one about a minute after I got home)

That's a vague possibility. I pushed out my last git commits for the night not long ago, so I'm actually pretty bored right now. My biggest dilemma appears to be whether or not to purchase this application to natively read my Fever feed on my mac.
I'm beyond useless regarding feedback on that topic.

woot

Have you gotten any pics? Is she as hot as canadian chicks stereotypically are?

Don't worry, so is everyone else apparently. It's a new app for a pretty low-key news aggregation system, so there's not a lot of great reviews out there. /RSS hipster

I'm also debating on whether to get the yearly subscription to CloudApp (which would be $3.38/month when broken down), or stick with Amazon S3 (which is dirt cheap now, but I can see it starting to get pricy as my online storage increases).

We've been friends online for years and years. So yes, many pics, and yes, she's very attractive.

How much online storage do you plan to consume?

Things gonna get serious? (At least, is that your hope?)

Well, I was using Dreamhost and just threw everything I wanted to share online on there since it was "unlimited". After I got tired of their QoS going down, I decided to go with A Small Orange. It's great, cheaper, but not nearly unlimited. So I'm searching for an alternative for sharing various things online (pictures, music, files). S3 is pretty nice so far when I use it with DropZone (drag-and-drop uploads), but there's no web interface or iPhone support. I'm trying to decide if the $3/month is worth that.

I'd like it very much, and I'm under the impression she feels the same, but we both have a lot rooting us to our respective spots. So I don't think we have any illusions of that happening.

So the answer is "as much as I can consume for as cheaply as I can, reliably"? laugh out loud

Circumstances change, especially if there's a deep-felt connection. There may be roots, but sometimes things work out. I hope it does!

Pretty much! CloudApp offers unlimited space and uploads, I can use my own domain, and only pay one flat fee a month ($3.3x). Amazon is costing me a whole $0.04 right now, but I can see that growing substantially as the collection of files grows. Plus, I'm not sure how I feel about not being able to browse already-uploaded files easily.

To simplify things, neither of us is willing to abandon our children. And things get a whole mess of complicated with divorces and children and moving to other countries.

Fiftyish per year seems pretty reasonable for unlimited. I'm not paying a whole lot less for my current hosting that meets my current needs, but my needs aren't even close to unlimited.

Those are the best kind. Smilie

Yeah, I see what you mean. Me and my silly romantic notions. I'm still rooting for you and her, though!

Yeah, it'd be $40.50 after the 10% discount. If I can scrounge up a 20% code, I'm pretty much sold.

I'm all set for Sunday dinner with L. I think I'm ready to classify her as a friend, potentially with benefits.
She's doing it wrong, though. Both times she's shown up at jam night, she's there with a friend who's cuter than she is.

If I were actually Midwest rich as vviles likes to call it, it could be plausible laugh out loud

I'd probably even go for it at that price if I were looking for gobs of storage.

Well, get cracking on that app to ask questions before program are run!

Right now, I don't really need gobs. But I'm trying to think long-term, and that Amazon will eventually cost more than this if/when I do get to gobs. Sigh.
