So the start of the season is either Jan 19th if it is going to be a 48 game season or Jan 15th if it is going to be a 50 game season.

This will make for some really interesting fantasy hockey.

This could end up being one of the best NHL seasons ever. Since each game could be that much more important maybe the intensity will be a lot higher than in many regular season games. As far as I am concerned the sooner we get to the playoffs in any NHL season the better.

Or it could be sloppy, poorly played on defense, and will be a run and shoot affair. After the last lockout, it wasn't pretty defensively as defensemen were out of shape and out of rhythm so they didn't hit their stride until the playoffs.

And there will be some offensive sputtering on those back to back to back nights that they'll have as they cram in too many games in a week. But I will say, it'll be more like arena football but for hockey and that isn't so bad. I wonder what the fan support will be like.
