... Another bitterly cold night tonight through mid thursday morning...
The combination of temperatures falling to as low as 10 to 20 below zero by dawn and a light northerly wind around 5 mph will cause apparent temperatures tonight over interior areas of west and central upper michigan to fall to as low as 20 to 30 below zero.
If you must venture out tonight into mid thursday morning... Be sure to dress warmly. With apparent temperatures this low... You could suffer frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.

Wtf? Apparent temperatures? Somebody must have been offended by the term "wind chill" laugh out loud

Twenty-two below zero this morning when I got home after night shift. Hope I get a truck with a good heater tonight. Cold

A coastal storm will bring the potential for heavy snow along with dangerously low wind chills.

Near blizzard conditions at times across portions of eastern Massachusetts.

Accumulations: snow accumulation of 8 to 14 inches.

nice knowing you all Sadbye

I love snow. The more the better. I am not a fan of any temperatures below zero. But I guess I will take a handful of days of bitter cold in the winter so I don't have to deal with crazy hot temperatures in the summer. This year has just been stupid cold so far though.

According to the info on my electric bill last year the average daily temperature in December was 24 degrees. This year it was 11 degrees. My electric bill and wood pellet usage confirms this.

I'm am glad they at least were finally able to fix that pesky global warming problem.

I wouldn't be surprised if we get upgraded to Blizzard Warning overnight or early tomorrow.

After the storm, our lows are going to be -5 to -10 with -25 windchill.

The worst was maybe 8 or 9 years ago when it was -40 windchill and they shut every school down in the state.

All the schools here on the coast are already closed and it hasn't even starting snowing. Kids have it too easy today.
But yeah, I'm not looking forward to the weekend temps. Although monday will be 55 and rain. Dontknow

We are on the line between 6" max and then up to 12" depending on how this comes through our area - so it's a crap shoot right now - though they are saying it will be a light fluffy snow Pray Schools will probably be closed on Friday, as this is coming through Thursday night for us into Friday morning. Eagles game forecast is for a nice temp of 22 degrees on Saturday - nice and chilly at the Linc woot They have been training every day outside in this weather; wonder how the Saints are doing inside their "dome" Big Grin

Don't they make snow there like they do here at the Skiing Resorts when the temperature is low enough?

The temps have been too high. Not sure if the smaller ski areas make snow, they did move some snow from the parking lots to the tubing areas, so they could open those areas. Right now they're three weeks past the average opening date for the year and the current forecast isn't looking good.

EEK!

Do you have to do anything special to your car to ensure it will start and run alright in those temps?
