Things are off to a rocky start in testing. Ferrari's car caught fire and there are some gear box issues, while Hamilton's car had brake failure, causing a minor crash into the barrier, he wasn't hurt though.

And some really sad news today, David Coulthard's 35 year old sister has died at home of what appears to be a heart attack.

Honda and a lot of tech geeks recreate a full lap of Ayrton Senna from the 1989 Japanese Grand Prix, with speakers and lights, on the track

the further rumor is that Nico will step up to Lotus from Sauber... at least it's a better shot for Nico, but I'd rather have seen him get the Ferrari drive

I feed bad that Massa's leaving since he was such a loyal driver but he needs to get his mind / confidence back. I worry that he might not get another drive (most likely) and wont be able to get his mojo back and that will stick with him for the rest of his life. Ah man only if the team orders didn't happen with "alonso is faster than you", he may have recovered his mojo after that win and gone onto more wins. His performance the first 14 races last year was horrible and it's time to move on but shoot, feel bad for the guy.
Nico H drove a great race in Monza and glad that he's getting the recognition he deserves for his drive. I remember his drive and forum interview with EJ back a few years from Hungaroring and I liked him from then.
Also, think Paul DiResta should be promoted soon to another top team. I am somewhat disappointed that RedBull promoted from within their program instead of going after another top driver. Kimi can't support Vettel and would drive Vettel crazy as a teammate but someone like DiResta could have worked better.
So disappointed in Mclaren this year. WTF is going on over there. I was hoping for some help in trying to dethrone Vettel the finger boy but they are of no help this year. I wonder if Lewis saw some of this last year and that's why he jumped ship. I also wonder if Shumey would have been able to win a race this year in this year's Merc. Damn hate/love the guy but I miss having him around.

My niece and her boyfriend went there this past summer and rented a car to go out and run on the track during one of the public sessions when anyone can drive on it.
It's a movie that really does deserve to be seen on a big screen, the filming was just spectacular. The story line was really well done too. Keep an eye out for shots of one of the six wheeled F1 cars.
I've been a bit too busy to go see Rush this weekend, mostly homework

As to the cars, all of the cars are actual real F1 cars that are "borrowed" from private owners.
I personally saw Rush in one of the new Cinemark "XD" theaters.
Movie is a 5/5.
Theater was a 3/5
There wasn't enough of a difference between the regular theater and the XD theater to make the 50% price difference in the ticket worth it.
Mostly it was due to the graining added to the film in post processing to give it an "older" look and the fact that it was actually too loud in the theater.
I know there are portions of the movie where it was specifically sound designed to have high volume background noise over the top of voices to give it a "hectic" feel, but honestly i found the sound design in this theater to be totally unsatisfying. Mostly due to the theater is my guess.

very bizarre, but glad to see Lotus and Sauber do well
