Carnival Triumph engine fire; lost power; tug boats pulling it to Mobile, AL.

The 500 or so McDonald's franchisees and executives onboard should at least be used to the conditions if they've spent much time in one of their restaurants.
We cruise on Carnival 5 months from today!
(different ship though)

I put most of our cruise somewhere between Applebee's and Outback...which is fine for us. The service level often far exceeds all but some of the fine dining restaurants we've been to. We rarely eat desserts, though on cruises they make us feel guilty about skipping anything.

"Branching out" to me is trying a couple of veggie toppings on my pizza.
And when does Applebees have a good night?

I started drinking martinis in college. Blame sex and the city!
There was one cruise on Norwegian (I forget which ship or what year) where I had a baked potato at a restaurant. I asked if I could get shredded cheese and bacon, and the waiter said they didn't have any. So instead of letting me go without - even when I told him he didn't have to - he ran down to another restaurant in the ship to get them for me
And I think they are always refilling your drinks. I take a sip of water, and someone comes by to fill it up
Apparently even on this stranded cruise ship, people said that the staff was still happy to help, and always there with a smile. I don't know how they do it!

Coast Guard: Cause of cruise ship fire was a leak
Sounds to me as if their poor maintenance finally caught up with them.
