Does it now cost $25 for lunch?

I always wondered when I was a kid about how old people would complain about how expensive stuff had gotten. Yet as a kid it didn't seem that expensive to me.

I think it has to do with our memories of how much stuff used to cost vs how much it costs now.

I went to a mesican resturant with my son after Church today and the bill for both of us was $24. Is that how much it costs for lunch anymore? Maybe. Even a meal at McD seems to be 6-7 dollars.

The interesting thing about this is the meal while OK was not worth $25 to me. I think the problem a restaurant faces is that of perception. My guess is it is really expensive to own a restaurant anymore. Food is higher, energy, taxes, insurance, etc.

Then joe citizen (or Richard) comes along and eats there and says, well that was OK but was it worth $25?

It seems to me the answer for restaurants is the fast casual concept like panera bread or panda express. Have a limited menu of items that can be served fast without a wait staff. At panera or panda my son and I eat for around $17. This seems to be the way to go IMO.

My local taqueria, close to Chipotle as well costs around the same for the same size burrito expect it comes with chips.

Word of warning, Chipotle's chips are very, very salty, be careful.

But for the price, you get a good sized burrito.

Is it really true? People say when you order the burrito bowl, you get more food than the burrito? So with that you could just roll up the burrito bowl and make a bigger burrito.
