Hi all,

I started this thread for anyone who wants to come here for lite discussion, jokes, and just general discussion and fun.

Everyone is welcome!

I was thinking that maybe it would be helpful to keep the original thread to a bit more of a serious discussion of the clues and answers.

This would make the original thread more useful to those seeking serious information and clues without having to read through hundreds of extraneous messages.

So, I hope it catches on !

So pop a beer and pull up a chair and relax !

No internet for 2 DAYS! I didn't realize how much I depend on being online!
I haven't read any back posts yet, but will try to get caught up.

The modem went out on my computer right after midnight Sunday am. There was an outage on the internet service for part of Sunday and I thought that was it, but no, needed a new modem. Bought one to upgrade to wireless, opened it up, and it was missing the disc AND had the Welcome letter in it to someone! Evidently, someone returned theirs and included the letter that comes in the mail when you first subscribed, but kept part of the items......

The store didn't have anymore in stock. The nearest one with the wireless modem for my provider was almost an hour away, so I bought another DSL wired modem. I could have bought from my provider, but they're more expensive than Best Buy and Walmart. I just couldn't wait another day................

Going to read mail and try to enter contests later.

Hope that everyone is well and safe. I don't have cable and had to rely on the over the air broadcasts about Boston. My Dad ran marathons until the year before he died and had wanted to go to Boston. My Brother has started running marathons and my Niece is working her way up in distances. You need to have a qualifying time to even enter. It's a very close community of runners and supporters. A wonderful experience with people uniting to help, encourage, and support the runners and their groups. My phone had a workout today. I fear that it will turn out to be an act by a domestic terrorist, despite the international aspect.

Hope that I will read about some happy events in your lives. Hugs.
Good Luck to all!
No internet-- sounds like a night mare !!!!! nice to see you are back online, my son also runs marathons and is to the point he can qualify to run at Boston, it is something he would love to do,
it really does hit close to home Frown

At least I wished my Nephew a Happy Birthday before I lost the "net". He would never have understood. He gets very impatient with me because I don't have a texting plan or a smart phone.

No Twix win tonight, but I did win a $5 Amazon GC from Dove!

There is so much to get caught up on, but I thought that I'd try a few contests. I spent $24 on a replacement air purifier filter on Amazon last week, so it's nice to be able to start building up a balance again! Just another reminder of how much I depend on the "net". That's a 25% savings over the normal Amazon price, they're usually around $30-$35 ea. at the brick and mortor stores..

Thank-you.
That wouldn't work for these purifiers.....one has 2 filters and I big canister style inner filter doesn't need changed very often, but it's heavy when it needs changed, the outer filter can easily be cut down from sheets of filter material, which I do, the other purifier needs the type of filter that catches the micro particles, those are $18-$26 for the furnace size, but have a metal mesh that I don't think that I could cut down..........

I can also turn the one filter vertically and get a little more wear out of it. Of course, I need to use the emergency inhaler when I change filters...................

I run my hand held canister vac when changing filters, when the dust starts to fly the vac grabs it.

NEWS FLASH! - Madison, Wisconsin----- Wisconsin's worst air disaster occurred when a small two-seater Cessna 150 plane, piloted by two local Wisconsin college students, crashed into a cemetery earlier today in Madison.
Madison search and rescue workers have recovered 300 bodies so far and expect the number to climb as digging continues into the evening. The pilot and copilot survived and are helping in the recovery efforts .

A Missouri State trooper pulled over a pickup on highway 44. The trooper asked, "Got any ID?" The driver replied, "Bout whut?

The young Eastonite came running into the store and said to his buddy, "Elmer, somebody just stole your pickup truck from the parking lot!"
Elmer replied, "Did you see who it was?
The young fella answered, "I couldn't tell, but I got the license
number."
