Hi all,

I started this thread for anyone who wants to come here for lite discussion, jokes, and just general discussion and fun.

Everyone is welcome!

I was thinking that maybe it would be helpful to keep the original thread to a bit more of a serious discussion of the clues and answers.

This would make the original thread more useful to those seeking serious information and clues without having to read through hundreds of extraneous messages.

So, I hope it catches on !

So LED's are more efficient than the spiral ugly ones? I have all spirals except where i sit in the kitchen has a hallogen but i shut that off when not sitting there, and the kitchen has 4 big long fluorescents. I don't think it is the bulbs because i went back 3 years comparing month to month and the USAGE has gone up over 100 each month this year. strange. and in the summer they raise the rates. have to resolve it now.

I won guess what - 2 twixes back to back. but i also got on the daily pepsi a free diet bottle. Did someone say a while ago that the coupon will let me get any kind of Pepsi bottle? i do not like diet. such wins. But i will take a long time to adjust to not winning those twixes when it is over.

I switched to CFLs (compact florescent) (spiral) a long time ago

I've been switching the lights that are on the most to LEDs
LEDs have a whiter light also
they last 15-25 years with 2-3 hour daily use

I watch home depot for sales, Costco has the cheaper sometimes

LEDs cost about 50% less to operate than CFLs and I find the color temperature closer to incandescents. The lifespan of LED bulbs is 2 to 3 times that of CFLs.
LEDs also do not contain the toxic mercury you'll find in all florescent bulbs, including CFLs.

Vertical daylight has a color temperature of about 5500K-6000K so the 5000K daylight bulbs that are shown at the bottom of that link may be what you'd like - that is also near the standard color temperature of florescent bulbs.

ok thanks. I will check costco. some of my home depot lights were defects. are they the same that say a 7.5 is equal to a 25 watt? do the bulbs get hot to the touch?
