I'm listening to my police scanner.....this is insane
Reddit has a thread of people following it, if you want to google it.

There have been reports of explosives and grenades. Also, a stolen police vehicle. I'm just relaying what others have reported....so who knows.

Don't make me go to the podium for updates!
There's a terrorist on the loose = damn good reason to search.
I'll bet you good money you could find somebody who would say "YES! Search every house one at a time!" for each of those criminals. Where do you draw the line? This is why we have a Constitution, and a Bill of Rights. You might draw the line at "burglar" but what if your neighbor wants your whole house tossed every time somebody spray-paints a building?
And if you want to make it conditional: then who sets the conditions? Who decides if this situation or that one warrants what amounts to martial law and a complete suspension of everyone's rights and freedoms? You? Me? Congress? The President? Who do we trust with that power?
Maybe there's more to consider here than a knee-jerk reaction to a horrible tragedy. Maybe it bears further contemplation instead of a pitchfork-and-flaming-torch mob mentality. MAYBE some folks have already thought about this and that's why some of us have different opinions than yours.

I know a whee isn't appropriate in this thread, but really, I don't want to move to the podium! I won't read this anymore if it moves...
I just happen to take offense at being told I deserve to die because I believe in the Bill of Rights, is all.
"Law enforcement authorities said suspected Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev, now the object of a massive manhunt, is believed to have been wounded during the early morning shootout with police and authorities had tracked him at some point during the manhunt by his bloody trail."
So, he's been bleeding for 16 hours, and is probably going to seek help for the wounds from relatives/friends, rather than a medical professional, very soon...if he hasn't done so already.

However, for this case, the police have exigent circumstances for every house in the neighborhood that they think he's in.
"Exigent Circumstances [lectlaw.com]:
Those circumstances that would cause a reasonable person to believe that entry (or other relevant prompt action) was necessary to prevent physical harm to the officers or other persons, the destruction of relevant evidence, the escape of a suspect, or some other consequence improperly frustrating legitimate law enforcement efforts."
There's a bomber on the loose who has shown he has no compunction about killing civilians and law enforcement alike; both with bombs and firearms. He's not above breaking into a home, telling a person to go to the door and tell the cops to leave without a warrant.
I hate overstepping rights and trampling the constitution, but that's most likely not happening here at all.
The problem with making these kind of searches okay is that it gives them the green light to do it any time in the future simply by calling any situation an emergency. If they see someone enter a house or have some other evidence that indicates a subject may be in a particular house then they are clear to follow them in. Allowing random searches gets into some pretty scary territory.
Not to mention that if something like that was happening where I live I wouldn't just be sitting there hoping the cops would show up to go through my house and tell me it is clear. I would already have done it myself and would be watching for anyone suspicious that may get too close.
Well, that is assuming I didn't live somewhere that had already taken away my right to bear arms and defend my property.
Anyone else think this kid is already dead? Either from his earlier wounds or suicide? How can a 19 year old kid elude the countrys best for this long?
I've been thinking long and hard about what I'd do if I lived in Watertown and the cops wanted into my place. I'm glad I'm not in that situation because I honestly don't know. But don't you DARE farking tell me I deserve to die because I believe something different from you.
Just because you can't see a reason for something doesn't mean there isn't one. That attitude of "if you've done nothing wrong you have no reason to fear" is DANGEROUS and SCARY to me. And I happen to believe that some rights and freedoms - like the ones in our Constitution - are inalienable and persistent under any and all conditions. It kind of says that, someplace, I think...
So, this is a little more serious than me standing on a soapbox on a principle. And I'd ask you to give it a bit more thought & consideration before you go deciding who's next to get blown up just because you don't agree with him.
The scariest thing that happened last night was that 9,000 LEOs were able to descend on a small neighborhood in less than 12 hours.
And what happens when are 2nd amendment rights are violated? How do we resist violation of the 3rd or the 4th amendment?

Leo DiCaprio did it. He was forging checks for years and then became an actor. Tom Hanks was his father.
