My truck was broken into and my Chromebook I won on SD was taken...:( NEW *****UPDATE!!! Post 188 Police put it on FB finally!!!!!!

What a bad day it was. I went into the gym to workout and someone opened up my truck and took my new Chromebook. The one I just won in Dec from SD. Crying I always lock my doors. But I have no damage to the doors. Did I forget and leave them unlocked? That would be so unlike me. The cop said that it is possible that they were able to jimmy the locks without leaving any damage to the door. Sadwalk

Sorry CC Hug2 People suck, especially when it comes to Gym's, they think nothing of breaking into vehicles and taking valuables that they can see and/or getting into the trunk where they know things are hidden as well. By any chance did you check under either door knob to see if you door knob was punched open that way; although the say it's a "myth" - they also acknowledge it has been done like this and it doesn't appear as though anything happened unusual - you think you vehicle was locked - you had to unlock it to get back into it.

Now for the lecture Annoyed I tell everyone in my family - never leave valuables in the vehicles not even in our own driveway - it's asking for someone to break into your vehicles. I'm constantly on hubby's ass about this, as he is the biggest offender Mad Reason I'm nuts about this; is one night long ago, I left my vehicle unlocked by accident; and someone rummaged thru my glove box; there was nothing for them to take as I keep nothing of value in the vehicle; but the very thought the next morning that everything was laying on my front car seat woke me up to what I had done - never again.

So chock up the loss - the most I will do is when I'm out & I'm charging my cell phone & I stop some where quickly is I will cover it up with something else and make it look trashy where it's sitting as a diversion; but I'm not usually gone from the vehicle that long. I just don't trust people Big Grin They'll take anything in this economy right now that isn't nailed down.

Keep checking Craigslist, Ebay, and any sell sites you have locally in your area; even your local newspaper; Pawn Shops; and not necessarily one's in your town - call around to others report it stolen and give them your numbers off of it - they are supposed to hold "goods" for a certain # of days, at least here they have to, before they can sell it.

As if things weren't bad enough. I didn't even remember that my change purse was in my lab coat in the truck. First thing in the morning I got a call from my bank. It had unusual charges on my MasterCard.
Best buy $1,840.24 7:35pm
Bed Bath and Beyond $833.0 758pm
Wal-mart $648.42 and $1,232.03 8:43 & 8:54

Total of $4,554.16 of charges made on my card last night!!! Ahhhhhhhhh!!!!
They only took 1 CC out of 4 and none of my ID's from my coin purse.

Why only one? My guess is so that I wouldn't notice until it was to late!

I have lost any trust i may have had in the human race!!!

Now that really sucks! Sheesh those store employees didn't match ID? Well any luck with video from the gym. Now the police have more to chew on the culprit.

edit: You should report the remaining cards potentially stolen and have them changed as you never know if they copied the numbers and may place orders online to be dropped at their neighbors or something to the effect.

Yes they do that because you won't notice just one missing. To be safe, cancel the other cards too. They could of wrote down the #'s to use them online.

The video at the gym was no use. Cops are looking into the other ones.
