Knitters/Crocheters

I know that there are a few of you.
I have a lot of time on my hands, so I'm attempting some new things. I'm actually using patterns now, where before I just knitted whatever came about. Big Grin

I'm beginning to realize that I only have small needles and I'm becoming a yarn snob.

I knitted a hat for my nephew, one for myself (no patterns), a baby-carrier (no pattern), and now I'm going to start working on some fingerless gloves.

Anyone else? Any deals on good yarn, needles, etc.?

thanks I will check that out.
your welcome, the circular knitting book is actually one of the best I own, because it has a stitch library in the back that shows you what everything looks like, and how to do them Smilie

Ok, thanks. I have tried to move it around and it still wants to hang up. It's probably cause it's all new to me. Maybe soon I can get it going smoothly.

Thank you again for your help. hug

Check to make sure you're going into the right part of the stitch. It shouldn't be difficult at all. The first year or two I crocheted I was doing it wrong. Once I figured out my error my speed has increased a bunch!

I just went in the back one like it was on th eothers. I looked and studied before attempting it cause I wasn't sure. lol. I think I am holding the thread too tight. I noticed after about the 30th stitch if I just barely wrap it around and kinda tug at the stitch that it hooks onto it will go back out alot easier. It's hard to control my tension though. Maybe tomorrow after I get the white going I can work on it a bit.

Thanks again. Smilie

I want to start white on the next row and make it the center of the blanket. I laid it out on the ground this morning and looked at it. ANd think if I do 5 rows of white then reverse the previous pattern it will be ok as I don't know where it was going before. From the looks of it she didn't do the start a new color by weaving it in she just cut off the previous and tied the next and began.
For starting a new row of trebles you need to chain 4. That counts as your first treble so be sure not to treble in the first stitch. Once you do the last treble on that row chain 4, turn, treble in next stitch.

You may be using a hook that is too small for the weight yarn. What size hook are you using?

How many stitches for a triple treble, though? Is it 6?

I have been doing the triple treble I think. I stuck the needle through the top at first wound three times and then through the bottom then over the top then started pulling back up. . Is that a triple? Heck I dunno...Stick Out Tongue

I think the needle is a 5..???

wow, wish i lived near it, my fancy yarn store NEVER runs sales, and is way over priced. I always go to Ebay and get the stuff I found in the yarn store, for cheaper, even after shipping, LOL

I loves me some Ebay yarn shopping Smilie I got a skein of red yarn for a $1 one time. Shipping was only $2, and the yarn in question would have cost at least $4 from a store, not to mention i would have had to drive 15-20 miles to the yarn store to get it Smilie

OK, here are some pictures of the sock.

You can't tell how farked up it looks, because my camera just isn't good enough to capture all the messed up places ( I switched to reverse stockinette half way through the sock, so half the sock is right side out, the other half is wrong side out, lol)
