Knitters/Crocheters

I know that there are a few of you.
I have a lot of time on my hands, so I'm attempting some new things. I'm actually using patterns now, where before I just knitted whatever came about. Big Grin

I'm beginning to realize that I only have small needles and I'm becoming a yarn snob.

I knitted a hat for my nephew, one for myself (no patterns), a baby-carrier (no pattern), and now I'm going to start working on some fingerless gloves.

Anyone else? Any deals on good yarn, needles, etc.?

Wow! That's pretty cool. I am not brave enough to try a crochet sock, but I bet that will keep your tootsies plenty warm this winter! (once you knit the mate, that is...) High Five

What are you talking about? It looks great. Messed up would be like if it was in the shape of a bundle of grapes. When you first said it looked farked up, I had a very different picture in mind compared to what it is IRL. Im sure you'll perfect it on your second sock. It really looks good. Thumbup

Awesome sock Thrifty. High Five Can't wait to see the pair.

Aggie, if you crochet socks I gotta see'em. Grin

I wish I were as brave. I had a pair of socks that were store bought that dh called my mammy socks. They were just the footie kind but all ugly rainbowey colored but so so comfy. I loved them and Dh hated them. I think he "lost" one so he wouldn't have to see them again. Frown

Thank you Smiley. Hopefully I can start to see progress this week. I have been taking alot of time off SD to try to get things done. It's Dec 1st and I still don't have my Christmas tree up yet:cry:

Slacking on the knitting. I got so much schoolwork to do. Finals are coming up and I have no time for knitting right now. Frown I'll knit again during winter break.

thanks for the kind comments about my sock everyone!

Now, I have a new question, does anyone here have any experience with ( or a software or website for) designing knitting patterns? I need a hooded baby blanket pattern, for knitting only ( I don't crochet yet) I need it to be simple, but I need to customize it a little bit with stripes and some little extras.

Are you on Ravelry? There's a bunch of patterns there - LionBrand has one.

Aggie and Barbara Jean. Her's a crochet project for you. Looks like it is a few blocks crocheted together and added handles. It doesn't have a pattern that I can find. I have translated a ton of the context on the site and have had no luck but thought as good as yall are you can probably figure it out.

AwesomeHigh Five

I never had any doubts that one of you would be able to find it. Wink

If I ever get all of my other projects done I think I am going to try to crochet one for the dd from all of my scrap yarns. It'd make a cute Christmas present if I can figure it out. bounce

I've been trying to come up with the name of the pattern.. it's a Haekelbeutel. (which is apparently German for crocheted bag) laugh out loud
