Knitters/Crocheters

I know that there are a few of you.
I have a lot of time on my hands, so I'm attempting some new things. I'm actually using patterns now, where before I just knitted whatever came about. Big Grin

I'm beginning to realize that I only have small needles and I'm becoming a yarn snob.

I knitted a hat for my nephew, one for myself (no patterns), a baby-carrier (no pattern), and now I'm going to start working on some fingerless gloves.

Anyone else? Any deals on good yarn, needles, etc.?

i did look on there. im not sure what are easy ones to change around Dontknow.

i need adult sized ones. im making ones for my nephew and the adut sized one i used from a book was WAY too small Crazy. the gauge was correct too. Dontknow i attempted to make it bigger but it just ended up rectangular looking. crappy pattern is you ask me. it didnt gradually increase.

Remember you can always try a bigger hook, too.

Try this pattern: http://www.cbcrochet.com/freepatt...triped-hat

im doing that one now. it seems to be really big. i'll have to make it smaller but dont know how.

i dont want to use a larger hook because doesnt that just make bigger gaps in it? i dont want that.

oh, nevermind. It's available on Ravelry, but it's knitting, not Crochet. Sorry. I can leaf through the craft books I have and copy one for you if I find one, but it might be a while, lol

I've been reading SD for a year and had no idea there were other fiber people here until I saw someone mention it in the Slickdeals group on Ravelry! Fantastic!

Another sock knitter here, though I've been known to make sweaters and baby stuff and dishcloths too. Also spin and crochet. Any of you who do filet crochet might want to check out my filet group on Ravelry. It's Figures In the Air [ravelry.com], and we've had a bunch of new members and new posts recently.

Thanks much for this link. I've been looking for someone else to make with my cones of Peaches 'n' Creme besides dishcloths.

Thanks. Blush That was my go-to project for a while. I need to get back to my crochet projects. All the babies have been born and blankets are made - time to make stuff for me again.

Hi, waving back nod

Lovely bag, and a great way to combine solid and variegated. I went down to Elmore-Pisgah last week (Peaches 'n' Creme folk) and came back with lots of pretty things out of their seconds bins. So I'm primed to do some crocheting. I'd love to have the pattern for this one.

I bought a TON of S&C on clearance when Hobby Lobby was cutting back on stock. My husband made me get a container for all my yarn and asked me pretty please to not buy more until I'd used up my stash. Coverlaugh So I'm nearly out - but not quite. I think I'll make the teachers a bag each and give it to them with a small poinsettia for Christmas this year.

I've attached the pattern. I adapted a different pattern. It's version 5.0 - a great size for groceries!
