I went out to check my garden at 5:30 this evening and had to change my clothes when I came back inside. I was only out there for 10 minutes or so and I was soaking wet. I'm going to just put my bathing suit on in the morning and cut back on the piles of laundry. Annoyed

At least you guys get a reprieve in the wee hours of them morning...I don't mind too much as long as I can get her out for a walk...even if it has to be before 7am...but when it doesn't even cool down to low 80s...it sucks.

Last night we didn't open up the house and put the whole house fan on...and so just the AC ran all night...well, some how it was set to 82 and I woke up in a puddle of my own sweat Frown

Whole House Fans Rock

Prob will turn it on before hitting the hay, even if it is still warmer out...as it will finally cool off.

Ehh been having to run the AC for a while now... just paid the bill...$214.34 Can't wait until August's bill which is usually the biggest one.

And I keep it at 74 -75 throughout the summer.

I gotta sleep at 70 or below. Luckily we moved to Wisconsin so it's not such a big deal anymore. Back in NC I'd pay north of $350 for June-August.

102 in Austin today, normal high, 94 EEK!
I took the bus to work and started to walk home, but I got half way there, happened to pass an available car2go smart car, and gave in for the sweet AC for the last half of my trip home

Never mind me and my bathing suit! I would imagine that everyone in your area is going naked for the next few days!

Here's what we have to look forward to tomorrow. At least our humidity is only 54% which I believe signals that the end of the Earth is approaching.

Nice!

Hit the Gym and then came in to work this morning...as I was leaving the GYM...it was already freaking hot @ 8 AM! I'm glad I remembered to bring my wet vest for the ride home.
Basically it's a vest you soak in water [cyclegear.com] and it cools you as you ride. Helps to have amesh jacket [cyclegear.com]over it I'm sure the 30 min ride home will pretty much dry it out...till my sweat starts damping it again! laugh out loud

Does your house have ridgeline vents? We added them to our house in Texas and it made a huge difference on the ac bill.

laugh out loud Just call someone to get a free estimate, they'll be able to tell you if you already have them. They allow all the heat to escape out of the attic, which means your AC doesn't have to work as hard to get the temp down to whatever setting you have it on. IIRC, it cost us $800 to add the vents but then we were getting the shingles replaced due to tornado/hail damage, so they already had the roof exposed. But it was worth it, paid for itself in no time at all.

Yeah I had them added to my house in MI.

Pretty sure all Vegas houses built after a certain year has them but you are right ...doesn't hurt to check.
