. . . . . said the doctor to my bride when she had two of my kids in for their wellness visits today. What does that have to do with anything? And the doc didn't let up. My bride kept telling her that she doesn't need to answer that question; so the doc asked it multiple times throughout the visit.

The worst thing about doctors asking questions like this, whether it be their own idea or a directive from the government, is that some people will be afraid to seek help for things like depression or anxiety if they believe it might result in having their guns taken away.

Even if the information isn't ever going to be used for that purpose, if someone believes it will they may avoid letting anyone know they need help. The results of that could be disastrous to themselves or others.

You should dress your kids up like Rambo, outfit them with every gun you have in the house, take a pic, and then send it to the doctor.

The snopes argument has been debated before, and they have been found wrong a number of times. I don't doubt he asked the question. I doubt that it's a government mandated question that will have all of the ramifications that you say it will. Just because there's truth in there somewhere doesn't make all of your extrapolations correct. And passing them off as "this is what WILL happen" is disingenuous.

I was asked that question as part of my initial "interview" at my doctors office. It was with a Nurse Practitioner who did all the initial stuff before I saw my actual doctor. It was part of a standard form she was going down and when I asked why they wanted to know she said I didn't have to answer. My doctor laughed about the question and said "This is Alaska, who doesn't have a gun?" laugh out loud

No doubt. It will not have the ramifications of everyone's guns getting taken. If I'm dead, I don't own it any more; therefore, it's not mine.

Joking aside, look at the Zimmerman trial. Doomsayers were saying that this is the end of humanity. Black people will riot causing a global war of justice waged against all white people. The reality is that a few people were beaten/killed in a few cities across the US. There was rioting, but not on the scale that would lead to the end of the US or the world.
