By popular request, a chit-chat thread for my extended family & friends on SD.

The NWS in detroit/pontiac has issued a heavy snow warning, which is in effect from midnight tonight to 7 pm est Friday.
Snow will overspread the region tonight, becoming heavy by the morning rush hour on Friday. Snow, heavy at times, will continue during the day on Friday, with total snowfall accumulations of 6 to 10 inches expected across much of the warning area, with locally higher amounts possible. Snow may mix with or briefly change to sleet in some areas, which could cause the snowfall totals to be reduced by a couple of inches.
A heavy snow warning means severe winter weather conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snow are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an emergency. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
