And what does honoring the price mistake actually accomplish? That you're incompetent? Create loyalty? Seriously?
PEOPLE DID GET ITEMS CHEAP!!!!!! WALMART LIED AND SAID THINGS WERE OUT OF STOCK TO EVERYONE ELSE AND BRUSHED IT UNDER THE RUG!!!! THEY SHOULD HAVE SPUN IT TO BE "WE HAD A MISTAKE AND SOME PEOPLE GOT A REALLY GREAT DEAL" AND EMBRACED WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED!!!!!!!!
If lucky charms accidentally put golden nuggets in their cereal boxes for 1 run, everyone would buy lucky charms for months. This would make them more than the cost of the nuggets.
What happened happened, and they did what was right from a company standpoint by not fulfilling all of the orders, cancelling orders... whatever. Their attempt to make "good" by giving people 10 dollars was stupid, they should have used the people that walked out of stores with thousands of dollars of items for hundreds of dollars as a news story. Jesus, THAT IS THE POINT!
