The *official* "Screw you Bill Belichick, get the hell out of my favorite sport, you're ruining the game" thread about the lack any New England Patriots sportsmanship (Now w/ POLL)

Quick open letter to the head coach of the Patriots:

Dear Mr. Bill,

You're the head coach of the best team in football, congratulations on your tremendous efforts. Now fark off and leave the sport to those that do not just consider it simply a business because you're sucking the fun out of the game and ruining this sport for not only fans of the teams you embarass, but kids that are learning about something you seem to totally lack: sportsmanship.

Its easier to explain Janet Jackson's floppy booby during a wardrobe malfunction than the planned and continued deliberate actions taken by the players under your direction. Sure its your job to win games, are you not good enough to do it without constantly skirting the rules, using deception and just out and out farking cheating? You're a dirty, unkempt, embarassment to the game.

Get the hell out of the sport.

Sincerely,
- Fans of the NFL and the ultimate purveyors of your salary
Against which team would Tom Brady most likely suffer a career-ending injury?

New poll should be "Will the Patriots ever win another Super Bowl with Bill Belichick as head coach?"

So I take it you have proof .... that he calls the fake snap plays.
Not the first time ... against Miami (http://www.palmbeachpost.com/dolp..._1022.html)
Quote :
With just 38 seconds left in the first half and New England leading 35-7, Brady hurried his team to Miami's 14-yard line and gave the signal to spike the ball to stop the clock on first down. But to receiver Randy Moss he mouthed the words, "Fake spike, fake spike."
Interesting quote (just an opinion of a player):

Quote :
former player Trevor Matich called it "heinous" that Brady and the Pats did the fake spike play (for the Moss TD). His explanation: When the D-line "mushes" upon seeing a spike coming, rather than rushing hard, they are extending a "professional courtesy" to the other team --- and to the QB in particular (sparing him injury).

Stop all the belly aching. The fake spike has been used plenty before and will be used again (I remember the Dolphins comeback a few years ago on MNF where they beat the Jets with that play). We were always taught to play hard until you hear the whistle. Even if they were going to spike the ball then that made it blatantly obvious that they had intentions to score again anyway. Why else would they stop the clock?

Are you changing what I said? I never doubted they ran the play (I saw them both), what I was doubting was whether or not BB called the play (as you suggested) or if Brady did at the line.

And yes that wasn't even the first time overall. Dan Marino was the first IIRC.

Since you still haven't given me 1/2 for either BB tampering with opposing teams equipment or he was the one that was calling the fake snap plays, then I won't hold up my end.

That was awesome.

I didn't wish for anything. You keep failing to retain a particular piece of information.....I am not a Pats fan.

Disgruntled sports fans have their own unique brand of tunnel vision.
For some who claimed he's not a NE fan, you seem to defend them vigorously. Why is that? Oh wait, you're a fair weather NE fan?

Just when I thought you couldn't sound any dumber. If I was a fair weather fan then wouldn't that mean I was a fan now, when they are stomping everyone? I am not a fan of the Pats, I am actually a fan of a division rival. Try to keep up with the conversation.

I am defending their actions in the past few weeks. I feel that in professional sports there shouldn't be any crying when teams can't complete at another teams level. Fark the so called unwritten rules about not running up the score. These teams should show some pride and play the whole game. Once again, try to keep up with the adults.

Oh ... so the Pats continued to pass, not to run up the score, but to protect Brady.
Quote from vec :
I think he was referring to the fact that they weren't going after Brady too hard. If it really bothered them then maybe they would have tried harder to get to him. Dontknow
Iagree that's why I'm a lot more annoyed @ the Skins for tanking & lack of effort than Belichick for putting some whoopass on. Hell if you're down 45-0 in the 4th and they are still running the score up, jump the snap count and level Brady unabated.

Again, for someone who claimed he's no fan of NE but defend them in every responses. Can you please address that for us? Oh wait, if NE win, you'll be the first to gloat all over the place and post with the in your face attitude style. SEE, I TOLD YOU SO. But if NE loses, you'll say, "it was a good game", and move onward. You know, I hope Billy boy leaves Brady in the game if they are leading. I can't wait until an Indy player dislocated his shoulder in exchange for a NE win. I am sure Indy will take that for a loss.

I must admit Cubs have one of the most loyal fans any pro league.
As much as it pains me to say this, the Cardinals have some great fans as well.

As far as the Pats, truly classless. The college argument doens't hold water because as was already said, that's how college is played because the ranking depend on them.

The Pats are breaking the unwritten rules. We don't hate them because they are good, we hate them because they go for it on 4th down when there is no way they can possibly lose. Run the ball, get touchdowns if you never have a 4th down, but if you get a 4th down, kick the ball.

I am by no means an Indy fan, in fact I hate them too, but I still respect the colts and I will be their biggest fan this week.

BTW, full disclosure here, the pats have not played my team this year and they will not play my team this year.

Once again you prove your stupidity. Why do I have to be a fan of the Patriots to defend their actions? I have addressed it enough. It is you that is too dumb to comprehend any of it but I will try to explain it one more time. I defend them in every regard because I feel that ANY TEAM has the right to run up the score in a professional sporting event. These aren't kids they are playing against and the losers should stop as if they are. Regardless of the outcome this weekend, I expect it to be a good game weekend and I could care less less who wins or loses.

My team already had their ass handed to them by the Pats and we still have to play them again. EEK!

I'm not saying they aren't one hell of a good team. In fact, I respected them before this year, and even a little bit after the cheating came to light.

The only place we disagree is on the unwritten rules. For me, it's not about feeling sorry for the losing team. It's just about class. Why not "settle" for a field goal on 4th down in that situation. It doens't mean the pats stopped playing by any means, it just shows some respect for the game. If they had scored on 3rd and 10 with a 70 yard run, I wouldn't call that running up the score.
