LOL ohio state is garbage the National Championship should be FSU vs Auburn

31 10 December 2, 2013 at 09:56 AM in Chat
Lets be honest nobody wants to see Ohio State get crushed in the national championship after barely escaping their super easy schedule. Atleast FSU dominated their schedule they need to face a battle tested Auburn team which would be a epic game.

#1 FSU schedule is weaker than Ohio States, a win is a win. I, nor the voters, care much about style points.

Ohio had a tougher schedule than FSU?! wtf you smokin'? I want some! LMAO

Ohio has played 2 ranked teams. #16 NW (1-7 in conf play), who was obviously WAY over ranked, and #23 Wisky. FSU won @ #3 Clemson 51-14, #7 Miami 41-14, rolled the #25 terps 63-0, and is playing #20 Duke for conf championship.
According to Jeff Sagarin's formula, Florida State has played the nation's 66th-toughest schedule and Ohio State has played the 61st toughest.

Do you really think your opinion has more credence than Sagarin's formula?

I care about the W. Ask Aurburn if they care about how they won their last 2 games.

I'm sure if you beat the hell out of msu like fsu did Clemson no one will doubt you're #2. So far tosu hasn't passed the eye test though. You struggle when you play a ranked team laugh out loud.

Yes we care.

Those two plays have garnered world wide exposure. We couldn't buy publicity like that.
We hung with bama and simply out coached Saban.

We allowed GA to get "that" close and then tore victory from them.

We let bama stay in the game until the very end, letting them think they still had a shot for a three peat then tore their hearts out.

I preferred beating them that way than a blow out.

Yea, it does sting them deeper than a blowout, and the games are that much more fun to watch.

bad assumption on my side; thought they would schedule their highest expected ratings game at night with their most well-known announcing crew (Herbstreit/Musburger).
CBS always gets first pick of what SEC games they want. So they will always get what is considered to be the premiere game. ESPN and other networks get to divide the rest.

Well, which was it? Did you "hang with Bama" or "let them stay in the game"? Big difference. I agree Bama was out coached to let a one dimensional team run on you like they did. Having a choke kicker and an extra week to plan like auburn had helps too, as we found out in 2010 when 6 SEC teams had bye weeks the week before playing Bama.

Nice of auburn to allow two Georgia players to run together and win on another fluke play.

No, I'm not a sore loser. My problem is with A-holes like you that just can't be gracious winners. You gotta spew your BS every time your team does anything remotely positive. Where were you and your BS the past two years? I'll take Bama's 49-0 beatdown last year any day of the week over winning on fluke plays two games in a row. We let auburn stay in the game right up until kick-off the last two years.

the +1 system is going to be the same issue down the way. the #5, #6, #7, #8 teams will then argue they deserve to be #3/#4. without going to a Div II playoff system, no one will ever be happy, and the system will never work.
Honestly, no one gives a rat's ... in regards to #3 and #4. The way I see it, in each BCS, the #1 is rarely disputed. So really all the bitching is about #2 and then there are 1-3 other teams that feel that they should be in the conversation.

The +1 will put those 4 in a show down. #5 and #6 can easily be cast aside due to either strength of schedule, loss or losses, or the combination of the two. To put it in reference, #2 is OSU, #3 is Auburn, #4 is Alabama, #5 is Missouri, and #6 is Okie State.

If this were the scenario next year, let's see, no one is disputing FSU so moving on. OSU is second but not a close second to Auburn. No one is going to argue either team as they have earned a seat to the table so that 4th slot, well Missouri deserves #5 only because they lost to Alabama and handily. No one gives a crap about what Okie State is whining about so if anything, we can say Missouri, should have been Alabama like Auburn did to be in the running. Argument concluded.

I think the +1 will eliminate a lot of whining, but not all, but will settle us into a playoff system we can live with. What most of the bitching will be about are the bowl bids for the remaining BCS bowls. A lot of whining of "well we beat them but they're going to that bowl" but only bowl reps will give a crap about that as fans have their playoff now.

I thought ND was bogus last year, and they were ranked high because they went unbeaten with an easy schedule. I wonder what the lines would be againt osu and some other top 10 teams. I remember this article being discussed on some other football message boards. We should let Vegas make a poll laugh out loud.

Auburn let Bama "stay in the game"? Are you saying that was intentional? Auburn could have shut them out if they wanted to?

Come on guy.

Roll

One dimensional! When we've needed to throw, we threw. No one, including the turds, could stop our running game so why should we pass?

All we heard was that Auburn would not break 100 yards rushing all game.
I'll let you check the numbers.

And as for my BS, I'm 'spewing' it to ALVS and a few select others. You decided to interject yourself.

And as for 'bye weeks', y'all had UT-Chatt. OOOOO, that was a tough one.
The turds could just as easily scheduled a bye week.
