Amazon closed my account

1,923 199 December 4, 2013 at 05:19 AM
So my wife account on Amazon got closed due "continued to request refunds for a significant number of your orders." Basically we had a baby and she was buying and returning stuff, but still keeping a lot of stuff. But I guess they have there reasons, anyway my account which had the same amazon visa card (sharing rewards) also got closed due to being linked to this account. I had student prime and over all loved my account and had good standings. What can I do now ? From reading around I see that they are using the billing address and/or Credit card/Bank information to link accounts, not the delivery address. This really sucks !

pathetic at you thinking the rest of us want to purchase, at full price, items that have been returned (warehouse deals is another story).

At some point you have to be realistic - if Amazon is losing more revenue than they are making on you -- you aren't their type of customer.

Most people don't make numerous returns (they shop the items at brick and mortar stores and then buy from amazon for a better price).

Nothing "pathetic" about it..if the system is being abused. No idea on the details in OP's situation but if someone is returning boatloads of things saying their defective (when the items are not)..it costs money. This translates, in the long run, into higher prices for me, you and everyone else....since I can bet the money isn't being pulled from Jeff's Ferrari spending.

Try with just your name instead of hers & take it from there

p.s. having an account closed for excessive returns has been going on for YEARS. So it shouldn't be any surprise to you.

See, for example:

They usually will only cancel for that of you lie about the reason of the return. When you tell the truth saying didn't want didn't need they charge you for shipping. Imo it's your fault of you weren't paying to ship the items back.

They charge you shipping to return an item you don't want? Do you get the discount they get or is it up to you to take it to the post office and select your shipping?

Actually we were, but a lot of items like baby and cloths is free returns. And with clothing and baby stuff is hard to purchase and stuff do need to be returned. But in any case closing my account is what pissed me off and no im not surprised just really pissed. And them not taking a return from my account for something that had a clear wrong item discription (market place item) is just plain wrong and I already opened a CC case (its amazon visa lol)

Sounds like the closing was justified then. Hopefully the silly threads of "price mistake !!!" due to one small (and obvious) picture error or the like...will also decrease with more bans. The whole purpose of Amazon and the third-party sellers..is an area of safe trade...not sleazy head-hunters looking for free items via extortion.

Not really sure its on her account, but its not like crazy. I did tell her that she is doing a lot of buying/returning but with there advertised free returns on baby and clothing, its setting you up for fail. Anyway my parents have an account that didnt get closed, so I`m thinking of getting amazon visa in my name and starting over.
