68,603 3,764 December 13, 2013 at 07:38 AM in Grocery (2)
Nearly 3 years ago I started my journey to live a healthier and happier life.
Since 2011 I have lost nearly 90 lbs and I want to help others achieve their goals too.

Attachment 2432258

I know that New Years is a popular time to make a change and I would be honored to help you. To get you started, I will host a FREE 4 Week Clean Eating Group - I will supply everything, the shopping lists, menu, meal plan and coaching. All I ask of you is to be active in the group and support others in the group.

If you are truly serious about making 2014 your year to have more energy, lose weight, or pick up a free health habits post in this thread. Also, let me know if you have a Facebook account, I may create a private FB group and/or use this thread.

I only want those who are 100% completely serious about making a change!!!
I hope to make this grow and roll over each month.

I'll contact everyone for the specifics after Christmas but my goal is to help anyone who wants to pick up some healthier habits. I'll create a thread, email everyone the weekly plans and we can support eachother in the thread.

I'm in to try to get my husband to eat healthier - his eating habits are like DC's - which means they are mine as well - but he has gained weight which he would like to take off. Problem is he only eats one meal a day - dinner - if there are leftovers he will eat them for breakfast - he is a very poor eater, sigh. Can't get him to eat better no matter what I try - steak and potato's man he is for sure ! But if I try different recipes on him, maybe I may make some headway with him Pray

Count me in, as long as its a bit flexible. We eat lots of fish, seafood, venison, and rabbit, in addition to chicken and some pork and beef. We are both wanting to shed some pounds and eat more healthy. We are especially interested in a diet that helps to reduce inflammation on the cellular level. I would really be interested in an idea exchange on how and what to substitute to increase to healthy nature of a dish, without sacrificing too much flavor. We don't do artificial sweetners at all, though.

No, I am not a dietician. I just use my first hand experiances.

I'm going to put each week in a Google Doc and issue the participants the PW to access it. Then we'll post in this thread, thoughts, opinions, advice, questions and support each other.

How does that sound to you?

For all of you non breakfast eaters, check out Intermittent Fasting. At least the principles behind it. It had been very good for me and makes life pretty simple when it comes to planning what I am going to eat during the day

sounds good.... i am hoping we can try to keep costs in check because i know many of us myself included have tight budgets so filet mignon isn't viable for both breakfast and lunch...

I would be interested in this as a source of different healthy foods and recipes to try. I've made some major changes in my eating habits over the last three months already and am continually improving on ways to eat healthier and eat less that fits my life and schedule.

I'm not interested in following any complete plan or even attempting to stick to a meal plan provided by anyone else, but rather to develop a more complete range of healthy options to pick from. Being that I work rotating shift work and work all three shifts--days, afternoons, and nights--I have found that I have to change eating routines for not only each shift but also for when I am not working.

I'm not sure how much I would be able to offer back that would be helpful to others but I'm interested in seeing how this goes.

what's your budget? how much moola? what is your weekly or monthly cap?

yes this is sd yet there is a price to maintaining a healthy life...either at the front- or regrettably at the back-end + there's also the unanticipated life curveballs Roll

This is probably how it will go down for me but because I'm working on this with someone else. He gets great ideas and doesn't have the willpower to see it through. I made a boxed dinner last night- and he grabbed it up and said "yum! Chemicals!" laugh out loud so we talked about trying clean eating in January. He's all in but we will see how long he lasts.

I would but as an environmentally conscious swimmer my meals need to be high carb and
mostly organic. My doctor and I are working together on it.

Maybe just a healthy eating support group with no restrictions? Recipe sharing and ideas? heart

You are more than welcomed to join and get some ideas. I don't have a problem with that.
I'm not going to structure it to "Follow this or I ban you", even I don't eat some of the things in the Meal Plans.

That's probably what it would become and there's nothing wrong with that. From the replies, we are all in different stages of weight management and diet needs.

Well okay then. I know a personal fitness guru and a doc and we had the 5 small meals a day talk. Just purchased some small storage dishes on sale for this step. So I'm on track.

Iam interested, but I try to be a vegeterian. I used to eat whatever I want and burn it off doing sports in high school, but that's not an option in college. I packed on 8 lbs during the first semester, so I am starting P90X tomorrow in order to shed the fat. I figure eating should be helpful as well. Count me in.
