you dont get the right to feel insulted, u have been warned...
so, peeps, if you dont believe in god, do you feel that ones that do are delusional?
a lot of people will sight karma or other things as 'he got what he had coming' but i argue that it's all a mathematical randomness that on a small scale might seem like karma
perfect example is: when you play poker and u push with the best hand, a LOT of times, you can predict/be so sure that the card will come that will beat you even if the chance of it coming is less than 1:6. when the card comes, some might argue it as karma, but i argue that its all random, just on a small scale randomness doesn't work
discuss....

I wrote this a while ago
I'll post what I think is relevent
I believe the concept of religion was created by man because we could not survive without strict guidelines in which to live by.
Religious persons are sometimes just looking for stability in their lives and don't know any healthy ways of doing so.
They preach equality, but some look down on those who choose other religions, other paths, most study a bible that says homosexuality is wrong.
The religious are as sinful as the non, preaching the ten commandments to anyone who will listen and those who try their hardest not to, than while the spouse is out will invite a friend over for a good fvck.
The religious live their lives as they see morally right by the definition set by their Lord.
Take away that definition and they may have to make up their own minds, create their own morals, live by their own opinions.
I do not believe our lives are followed and judged, and that the place we move on to after death relies on how many rules we follow, rules set by a fictional character.
There is no need to read and memorize a set of standards that are not your own. Think for yourselves, for fvck's sake.
Fear that if there is a god and you don't believe in him, you're going to hell. Fear of other things.
Hope that there is a god, and you're not living your life in vain. Hope that there is an afterlife. Hope of other things.
No. I'm referring to the feeling of God's presence.
I do believe that the number of situations that you call miracles/luck are higher than would naturally occur, though. JMO

Also, I do not preach the ten commandments to people. If they want to listen I'll tell them about Jesus, but I not going around saying...you're wrong for this, you're wrong for that.
Referring to those who are religions as unstable and their beliefs unhealthy...whatever that means.
Those who really follow my religion are taught not to look down. Yes, I think homosexuality is wrong, but is your right. You think I'm wrong for believing that. What's the difference?
How dare you group us all and suggest we would do such things (adultery)? I am extremely offended by this.

I did use my own mind to choose to believe in something you don't. It is my own opinion. Don't call me a sheep.
There are other ways to say that without the condescending use of the term 'fictional character.'
Again, I do think for myself and with that thought decided that there was a God. I choose to follow his rules knowing that he is smarter than I am. You can choose not to and that's your choice, but I will not cuss at you belittling your opinion.
I missed this line on adultery...this is a little over the top
you inserted the sheep comment not him. he suggested that if you take it away then you won't know what to do... i don't find this condescending just an opinion...it may not apply to you.
but if he believes it is a fictional character why should be conform to what you think is an appropriate measure?
he wasn't cussing at you

If she lived her whole life hating/non-believing in god, and then realized that he does exist after she died, and asked for forgiveness, a merciful god would accept her forgiveness and let her in (as long as she behaves).
We're humans, we all make mistakes.
Each person arguing against religion has their own barriers which they can not get across. This is one of mine (which is why I keep bringing it up), and I don't expect anyone to prove to me that I'm wrong because it'll be just as hard as me proving to you that you're wrong.
Second of all, it's hard to tell from the internet, but she sounded like she had a condescending tone, and did go over the line somewhat. I do agree that she had a handful of valid points IMO, but she could have phrased it better (not saying to sugar coat it, but not to be so rude when she does make her points, otherwise they get dismissed).

If she had all the time in the world to see, she may opt to never do so. Only God has the ability to see into her heart and know where it lies. God may be omniscient but you seem to think He's incapable of having feelings.

You're right on the sheep comment. After looking back, it was you who made the sheep comment.
I take 'fictional character' to be a disrespectful statement. Maybe that wasn't his intent, but based upon the rest of the post, it felt that way to me. I haven't disrespected anyone else's viewpoint and I had hoped for the same respect (most of you have done just that).
No, he wasn't cussing at me, but it added to my feeling of it being a hateful statement about those with my beliefs.
I think I'd like your god.
I think I might like PG's god, but your's and her's are pretty close.
I don't think I'd like BrnHntr's god.
So it's hard for me to generate responses to all 3 of you, because you all have different interpretations of what god really is.
By what I understand she would not have to acknowledge god while she's alive and still have a CHANCE to go to heaven, by BrgnHntr's interpretation of god, he'd send her to hell since she didn't acknowledge him while she was alive.

well maybe I take the capitalization of g_d to be offensive... maybe you take the way I use g_d as offensive... you can't appease everyone...all this PC crap has really afflicted people IMHO. You say g_d exists although one can't prove this pragmatically. I would say along with this poster that g_d is a fictional character or being.
right it was out of feeling... doesn't mean it was a direct attack at you or anyone on this board....just a general feeling the op was expressing.
