I'm curious. Statistics supposedly say only about 20% of people own an iPhone. I'm wondering how many people have no smart phone at all.

Just got the HTC One Max last Friday. 5.9" screen.

Add a tempered glass protector.

Love it so far.

It will actually cost me $30 out of pocket since my firm only gives up to $199.99 for a phone and it's $229.99 under our Verizon plan. On the positive side, I don't pay a penny for monthly service and I can get an upgrade every 11 months. So.... wootGroupwaveDance14Dance13Celery LiftRockPunkClapYahoo!

Same thing over here except with iPhones and AT&T. No out of pocket expense for me ever.

I have some piece of crap TracFone that I have kept this long just because I rarely carry it around and even more rarely use it. I don't know how people can stand to carry those things around--where the hell do you put it?

I really should switch back to my Motorola V60i but I have been too lazy to see if it will still work or if it is obsolete.
I keep mine in my pocket.

Seriously though, I couldn't stand to have a big phone in my pocket all the time. Not to mention that it would probably get all beat to hell. I suppose I could get one of those dorky-looking phone holsters but then I would have a phone with me and people could bug me.
Phones comes in different sizes Whee
You can always put it in airplane mode if you don't want to get calls. Or put it on silent mode. Or just ignore calls. Just because it rings doesn't mean you have to answer it.

The V60i was small enough and protected enough that didn't mind it too much in my pocket, but anything bigger would feel like a book. Also, my eyes are so bad I would need a huge phone if I needed to be able to see anything on the screen. laugh out loud

Or I could just leave it at home like I do now. Whee

Where did you get the 20% from? That's way off. iOS is currently 53% market share.
Quote from vec :
I use http://netmarketshare.com/. They are usually accurate.

Either way, OP's 20% is way off and that was the point that I was making.
Facepalm No you're the one who is way off.

Go back and re-read OP's post. They said that "20% of people own an iPhone." That's it. Not "the iphone has 20% of the smartphone market share" OR "iOS has 20% of mobile OS market share." (btw, iOS marketshare statistics include tablets so your 53% number is WAY off in regards to smartphones.)

Here is the simple math behind it:

40% of smartphone owners use an iphone.
50% of Americans own a smart phone.
50% of 40% = 20%

In other words, 20% of people own an iphone. bulb

No smart phone here, just an old flip one that I leave at home most of the time. I'd have a landline if I could but can't where we are living at the moment.

Older home where the wires are shot for it and we aren't paying to have them fixed, moving soon.
