in December my birth control pills were $9, which was the total cost allowed by my insurance company. in January they were FREE because of some new Obamacare thing that started in 2013. this month they are $25 - because i lost my job and i no longer have insurance.

Scratchhead

as it turns out, the new 2013 Obamacare thing gives FREE birth control pills to those who have insurance. if you don't have insurance, you get to pay full price. Huh

seriously???? what the fark is wrong with this country? Ranting

Wait, something Obama "fixed" isn't as wonderful as he promised?

I am shocked!

Shop around. They're probably $8 or $9 at King Sooper or Kroger (whichever branch of that chain you have).

i actually looked up the $4 generic scripts earlier today that Walmart offers, and my birth control pills are $9 there. which is better than what CVS charges me. but it's still some bullshit laugh out loud

excuse me? Huh did you read the whole post, or just a couple sentences?

i have been paying for health insurance AND paying for medications AND paying for doctor's visits since i became an adult. the only thing I've gotten for free medically speaking is a single month of birth control, which was last month. i was elated - finally, i get a break, even if it was just $9 a month.

then i lost my job, lost my health insurance, and i end up paying MORE for medications and doctor's visits. the whole thing just bothers me, that's all.
