Help
My son is a big time gamer and his computer is very old and slow. He has saved $1,000 for a new one. I'm so proud of him for saving his money for it.
It needs to be a gaming worthy Desktop computer.
Any suggestions for him?
He just needs a tower. Has a good monitor already.
Yes I know that we have a forum for this kinda thing, but I
my lounge friends and trust you to do me right.

I bought a Dell refurb a few years ago that had (at the time) pretty average everything. i7 processor, decent amount of RAM, decent video card. It was probably around $500. It can play every game I want just fine. I cant turn the graphics up to max on anything, but it suits my needs. For me I dont worry about the top of the line graphics and comparing my epeen to others with my computers "scores" though.

So if its not a big deal for him to run the latest and greatest rig with max graphics I would suggest to him something around $500. Maybe something like "hey you know you can get a good machine that recommended, AND an ipad for that $1000" or "hey you know you can get a good machine that recommended, AND save the rest for ". I am not sure your financial situation, but I would also consider going as far as "WOW! I am so proud of you for saving $1000!!!! That is so awesome! I think you can get a really nice computer for $500 like this one: . In fact, if you want to do that, I would be happy to go in half with you and you can put that $750 towards "
Either way awesome job for your son!!!!

the job he works its just a training job for special needs only four hours a day at only $3.75 an hour.
He can spend his $1,000 and get the best one he can get. His life is his computer friends. So it's everything to him to be able to keep up with them. He has no real life friends right now.
