Hard for the average person to comprehend how someone who has had so much success can't find a reason to continue living. Depression can be such an ugly thing and this just shows that it can hit anybody, and that money really can't buy happiness.

I don't understand people who commit suicide and I never will claim to, but I REALLY don't understand people who commit suicide at an old age who aren't struggling in a financial sense. 63 years and you pick now to end it?

Edit: Apparently he wasn't well off financially. His divorces took him for most of what he had. He was actually broke enough that he was going to do a TV show for the first time since Mork.

Depression isn't something one really understands unless it's either something you've studied or you've experienced. All the money in the world really won't change you if you're struggling with depression. There is sometimes no rhyme or reason for it (especially not one that you would be able to see as an outsider). However, it is a very real, and serious disease that has a terrible stigma attached to it.

Many people do not get the help or treatment they need for it because of how mental health issues are treated in this country.
