Chick-fil-A.....

18,403 14,761 September 4, 2014 at 05:54 AM in Humor
So the first CFA in the state opened up this morning. On the news, they said people were camping out for a good 36 hours.

I've been to CFA in another state before, but camping out?

Looks like Black Friday. One guy drove over 1000 miles to attend Confused

With that being said, gotta grab some lunch later Eat

I find it ironic. Culvers and CFA are neighbors here in Chesterfield MO. I think Culvers and steak and shake have the best hamburgers. But, CFA is always packed. In fact, the lines are so long they take orders outside.

Habit takes too long and is too expensive. Not worth it for a barely above fast food quality burger. In N Out is still the best balance of quality and speed.
Steak N Shake make everything to order too.

Chick-Fil-A is awesome.

I can't eat a lot at a time so I get a two piece chicken strip kids meal (they don't care about your age) and substitute the 'toy' for an ice dream cone for free.

So, two large chicken strips, fries, drink and a cone for slightly over $4. You also get the occasional receipt with a two minute survey you can do for a free chick-fil-a sandwich.

You must have an awesome store because it's usually a 10-15 minute drive thru wait at the one by me in Texas, hence the long lines. The only "fast" food place around here that's slower is Whataburger and that food is barely above McDonalds. I once waited in line for a Whataburger plain with "cheese" (Kraft processed yellow plastic slices is not cheese/food and not worth the extra quarter) for almost 15 mins because it's what the now ex wife wanted.

I think the problem I have with Chick-fil-A is their batter is too sweet. I'm not a fan of sweet food and we have a ton of other chicken options around me.

For me, I would rather go to Chicken Express or Raising Cains and pay about the same price. Even my daughter says both of those places blows Chick-fil-a out of the water.

Oh, one thing I did learn from them is because they are so slow, I will call in my order about 10 minutes before I plan on getting there. Most times I still have to wait about 5 minutes or so after I go in a pay.

My local store is between my work and my daughter's school. It normally takes about 10 minutes to get to her school from my work. If I stop by Chick-fil-A, I have to leave work a good 20 minutes earlier, which doesn't work when I have conference calls and what not.

I can credit them with teaching me that lesson because now I do that for any place that I want to pick up a quick lunch to take back to work to eat.

laugh out loud come to think of it, I don't think I've ever ordered just a burger there. Maybe that's why I think it's more expensive.

I don't eat the food at CFA (it's waaaay too salty), but my kids go once in awhile and I go along. I have to say, the service is amazing! The people are always friendly, always polite and always smiling.

There are no other food joints around here ... NONE! .... that have the service that CFA does.

I have yet to find a fast food joint that is as consistent as CFA across the board. It doesn't matter if the CFA is in the ghetto or an upscale neighborhood, the place is clean and the workers are friendly no matter what.

I thought maybe the thread was bumped because the founder died today.

I haven't had long waits at the stores I've been to in Colorado or Kansas City--the first public location in Nebraska was slow, but it wasn't set up as a full service restaurant, it's more of a cafeteria-type location. I've been to the first standalone one many times and it's been fast--with the caveat that I have no idea how the drive-through is, since it's exceedingly rare for me to visit any drive-through.
So maybe your store sucks Tongue

I've been eating at In-N-Out since the early 80's and every store I visited is always clean and the employees capable and friendly. In fact, I have never had an order that was incorrect in the 30+ years. Until two weeks ago. I came home to find fries missing, and I was devastated. I suppose it was inevitable, but I was so disappointed, I wrote them through their website and I received a phone call the next day. Cheerful young lady named Christy apologized for the mistake, assured me the manager of the location will be contacted, and wanted to send me a few vouchers for future visit. I went back to that location a week later and redeemed the vouchers. The next day, it's Christy again, wanting to know if my visit was pleasant, and I assured her it was indeed. That's customer service!

Aww. Cathy Truett, the founder of CFA, died today. Hopefully his son will keep the chain's values strong and stay closed on Sundays.

I can't lie, there have been a number of times I've forgotten they were closed on Sunday and left disappointed. So I'd welcome them being open an additional day.
