Anyone done it? If so what are you using for movies, tv shows, etc? ( not torrent sites Stick Out Tongue )

I'm cancelling cable and was wondering what everyone uses these days. Hulu, Netflix, HD Antenna, Chromecast, Roku? Dontknow

We just did this. I bought an antenna for the attic and got a TiVo. I'm in the marketfor a couple minis. We also have Netflix and Hulu once we get nterwebz Ina couple weeks. The new TiVo roamio rocks. Best DVR we've ever had.

I have HD DVR service with the Directv that I only really watch the news channels with. I have friends and family that let me use their Hulu, Netflix , Amazon Prime, and HBOGO accounts and I Pirate Bay sometimes . I stream on Roku's and a PS3.
As soon as CNN has a app for the Roku DirecTV will be history. My brother and sister will never give up Directv and Dish and they don't mind me using their accounts.
The best thing about streaming is most of it is commercial free, unlike bumping the Directv remote every 8 minutes to get through the commercial breaks.
Finally Directv is making only the people who snort ESPN pay for it.
On a side note I called Directv last week and said I wanted to cancel service. Thats the only way to talk to anyone with clout there, and asked how much it would cost me to buy out of my contract.I guess that question rings some bells with their system, and the operator asked if $25.00 off my base package for 6 months would help the matter? I pushed it and asked for 12 months...and she said that would be fine ,(they actually only gave me 10 months I think), that they want to make me happy. Later I checked my account and had a credit for nearly $300.00 waiting for me.

My thought: You won't miss cable a whole lot, after the first few weeks. It's such a farking wasteland.

Thanks never thought of looking into Tivo too. Something I will add to my list.

Thanks for the info. I was always the one letting everyone get movies off my Comcrap account. Only way I could get them back for their high prices. laugh out loud

Yeah I have been realizing just how little we watch it.

I was under the impression with AppleTV you had to buy everything from itunes. So it has apps on it too?
Yeah. It's not open to everyone yet, but it has plenty of content. Plus, if you have iOS or OS X at home, it will all play nice and you can even stream content from your iPhone or Mac to the TV. I do that with some apps that are on iOS, but not on AppleTV.

I'm getting the Samsung S5 which links up my Samsung TV and the TV also has the apps. But would be nice with our Macbooks.

So many different choices, unlike cable...lol

I'll admit I was a little disappointed when you didn't list yourself as an eligible bachelor on your wedding poll...
