Anyone done it? If so what are you using for movies, tv shows, etc? ( not torrent sites
)
I'm cancelling cable and was wondering what everyone uses these days. Hulu, Netflix, HD Antenna, Chromecast, Roku?

I was used to paying $33/month for 12Mbs cable, so I get faster speed and HBO-Go for $50. That's how I'm looking at it, anyway.

My ISP was out today and did the speed upgrade to 15/3. They use bonding of two adsl signals
7.5 +7.5 (15) Down / 1.5+1.5 Up
Went from 59/mos to 39/mos. Save 20/mos and almost 5x the speed...Mkkkay

it'd be easier if I actually faced the broadcast antennas, but instead I live on the wrong side of a reinforced concrete box from the antennas, and the only way I can get an OTA signal is to stick the antenna outside the building envelope a few inches through my balcony railing.
I hear that my HOA is nearing an agreement with Google Fiber, I'm still holding out hope they'll be in my building soon, and as long as the pricing is similar to Kansas City I'll likely go back to having cable again (but for now, 50mbps internet with TWC for $35/month after taxes is a great deal) viva internet competition

HBO in some form will soon be available without a cable subscription...

HD Antenna is definitely one thing we will do. Possibly a Tivo or DVR. Hulu, Roku, Apple TV...so many options
Hmmm can you please attach it...can't see tinypic @ work

On a tech note, they make RG6 coax with a ground wire on it, to make it easier for the Dish installers to ground them. Typically they run back to your cable box which usually has a ground bar in it.
But if the antenna is installed in your attic, not so much. This is the antenna [amazon.com] I have in my attic and it works wonderfully!

I now get every OTA channel within about 50 miles of my house, even the low power ones that are broadcast from behind the direction in which the antenna is pointed. So even though this antenna is a Yagi, it seems to act more like an omni as far as channels it pulls in.
