I've spent the morning (so far) installing operating system patches on a VMS node, so I can begin the database upgrade on that system. The fun just never ends . . . Whee

Oy what a crazy commute! Normally it's 15 minutes door-to-door but this morning was almost an hour... they called for 1" of snow but we've got 2-3" already and it's still coming down. All the local school systems decided to stay open and not even have a delayed start, so kids were getting in before teachers and people are PISSED. Nothing's treated or plowed so idiots are sliding all over, and traffic is a HOT MESS everywhere right now.

SO glad I know how to drive in the snow and have my choice of about 8 routes to work. Took all back roads w/small hills and got here safe. Now to see what it does tonight... supposed to warm up & melt just a bit and then re-freeze just in time for the evening commute. Annoyed

Damn. It's certainly cold enough here, but all of the snow is north of richmond. I wish we were getting some of that so i could work from home.
