Sweet little ride, dude! Gonna be great for Spring/Summer driving. nod

I see by the national weather folk this morning, that VViles should be expecting between 3 and 12 inches today.
For VViles' sake, I'm hoping it's only 3 inches. (That's NOT what she said!)

After all the reading I've done previously, I'm not sure what the fuss is about being my height and driving a Miata. The guy I got it from was just a few inches shorter than me, and quite a few inches rounder than me. I feel like I got a stellar deal, because there's very little that I'd want to do that hasn't already been done. Runs/drives great, has decent Alpine head unit with Sirius (I'll probably be pulling the stuff for that out), aux/USB inputs, dual graphic EQs, 10" sub in the trunk, nice alloy wheels and tires with a decent amount of tread, fancy chrome bar behind the headrests (I'm not sure I'd consider it a roll bar).
I may yet swap the wheels out for some stock-size 14" wheels. On the drive back to Nebraska, after a sheriff merged onto the highway and just blew past me, I turned on the speedometer app on my phone and found that at highway speed, the speedometer was reading 6MPH low.
But we left at 11AM on Saturday morning, arrived at the Applebee's just after 1:30PM and let the guy know we were there--there was actually a second Miata in the lot too, coincidentally. I took it out for a spin, and he told me he had bad news... turns out the battery had been dead when he went to start it, he got a jump to drive it there and was hoping the drive would charge it. So he knocked $100 off the price so I could head to a parts store and get a battery put in for the drive home.
There are two Autozones in Topeka, and from Applebee's one is 6 miles away and the other is 5.8. The slightly closer one looked like it had a simpler route, so we picked that one. We arrive, and the guy says they can have a battery there by 6:30PM, or the store up north has one Annoyed
So we drove to the other store and after five minutes they managed to find the battery, and the guy there said since he was a Mazda enthusiast, he'd put it in for me. Then we went to Steak & Shake, as it was on the route back. I had PG as the lead car to get us back on the highway, and the signs leading there were not particularly helpful--we saw one that said 75 North, took it, and a few miles later, we were on the Kansas turnpike. Pulled over at the first gas station, and Google Maps for some reason wanted me to drive another 15 miles before turning around, but we figured there was no good reason we couldn't just turn around there.
After that we found the correct exit, and the rest of the drive home was pretty uneventful. I got to enjoy the sound system, and as the rain started, discovered that I should probably invest in new wiper blades soon.

The top is only ~5 years old, and has a glass back window, which saves me from dealing with the common issue with the plastic back windows.

And yesterday I sold the MB to a kid from Des Moines. He showed up in a Subaru wagon with a female and two other buddies (one of whom was wearing a Pink Floyd - The Wall t-shirt). Got my asking price, which is nice. I think it helped that he knew someone else was interested.

There is definitely something wrong with my all wheel drive. I couldn't make it up a drive way that was packed down snow covered. Also my the lights on for my trailer hitch are not working. We still hooked up the cargo box and drove 2.5 hours away. Luckily nothing bad happened.

So far this morning:
1) my desktop/network password was locked, leaving me no access to report the problem Annoyed
2) users reported a database problem in one of their test environments. The error log pointed to the wrong one of 43 different databases. That took a while to track down the actual problem source.
3) another user wanted a data dictionary definition updated . . . only took ten minutes.

Is it lunch time, yet? look around

If the AWD light is on, I imagine the car has probably disabled the AWD to prevent damage as a precaution.

All told between the parking lot dent payout and the selling price, I came out ahead a few hundred bucks and a fun new ride.

Apparently, VW buses retain their value quite well, and people hang on to them until they fall apart.

Yeah, their wagons from the past decade or so seem to be produced in low numbers and don't turn up for sale often.

Question. I need to get a new ECM for the bride's grand caravan. Do either of you frogs know if it requires some sort of programming for the mileage and VIN or can i just swap them out plug and play style.
