OGM: Yes, i see your name is on the list, but the way the giveaway works is that you have to claim your prize the day your name appears on the homepage... If your name is listed on the Web Site as a potential winner on the Posting Date, you must send an e-mail to Sponsors at [email protected], with the subject line "Gear Sweepstakes," before 11:59 p.m. ET on the Posting Date.
ME: Thats a poor way to run a promotion, please take me off the winners list if i didnt win anything.
OGM: We've been running the promotion this way for years and we end up giving away between 10 and 15 prizes a month. We do it this way because it encourages our readers to visit our homepage each day to see if they've won. And while they're on the homepage they hopefully will see an article or two that catches their interest, answers their questions, or inspires them to start gardening. So all in all, it's not a poor way to run a promotion, but thank you for your commentary.
Ugh. I understand wanting people to come check the page (even though its annoying) but you could still email the winner directly. No prize for me.
On the plus side I won Brooks Cascadia 7 shoes from outdoor magazine, not sure who posed it but thanks!
