Thank you, sjmcneil Smilie

I oops'ed and just edited my thread...face value is a total of $180.
Thanks to a post by "Implode", I won (2) tickets to the NC State vs Wake Forest which I attended on Saturday. It was sponsored by John Deere. I won 2 tickets to the game, special "on field" experience before the game, and (2) prize packages with 2 NC State hats, 2 NC State t-shirts, 2 John Deere hats, 2 John Deere t-shirts, and 2 NC State bags. Total ARV $275.00 - PLUS I am in the running for a John Deere tractor! (MY niece attends NC State and is in the marching band) This is one contest that I really, really, wanted to win! and I did! Enjoy the game!

Very nice, congrats. That must have been a fantastic time, especially nice since I'm guessing you were rooting for NC State.

As much as I would enjoy it, unfortunately there's no way I can attend this Rams/Jets game.

Ok I am so excited I couldn't wait to come and share with my sweeper friends. I attended a twitter party today and won an HP laptop! I just got into twitter parties (this was my third), but I think I am hooked!

Although they are time consuming, this one was 2 hrs but most are a hour, it's nice to instantly win a prize!

By far my biggest win yet!

So what exactly is a "Twitter Party". I've seen a couple (after they are over) but I'm missing the premise of how they work.

I'm no expert by any means, but here is the basics.

So the host, bloggers, companies, websites, etc, 'host' a party.
To attend the party you use a hashtag IE - #winchat (sometimes you will need to RSVP from the host website or twitter page)
Usually the host ask questions and your responses are your entries, but you must make sure that your responses must have the hashtag to count

Finding twitter parties is a different story, basically you follow people who attend the twitter parties and they will post about them before they start.

Also it is helpful to use tweetgrid.com to attend the parties, because it can get crazy without trying to keep up.

Hope that helps some!

Jen

There's an overall limit of 1000 tweets a day, and that's broken down into semi-hourly limits. If you exceed that, you're blocked from tweeting for a while (anywhere from 30 minutes to a couple hours). There have been 10 twitter parties so far today, so I was tweeting WAY too much, lol!

What? You entered for a prize you had no intention of using...be careful about that in the future, some contests they don't re-award prizes. I would have loved to win the hhgreg promo.

Never turn down tickets even if you don't care about the game or are unable to attend. You can sell them on Stubhub.com quite easily. I enter to win tickets to any concert, game, etc. even if it is geographically no where near me. I even enter to win Justin Beiber tickets every day. I like for my sweeping hobby to occasionally make a small profit.

That's a little preachy and not necessary imo. In this case entering the contest had an honest mistake involved, but sometimes people enter sweepstakes from themselves, and sometimes thinking of someone else. To each his own and it's really up to every individual to make their own choice. It's also up to them to decide what they'd like to do with any prizes won. Some may enter hoping for a certain prize with little use of the other prizes, and we don't have control over which prize we may win. On top of that, all winners are potentially liable to any applicable taxes as well.

There's no dishonesty or lack of integrity in that imo. Some teeny boppers may get a little envious, but not any more envious than if their teenage neighbor won instead. Wink
