I won this instant win a while ago, got my prize today. I won the biggest prize, a Bracelet worth $1075...I'm a little out of my realm of comfort on jewelry wins to be completely honest. After getting my prize and looking around similar bracelets are gong for $300-400 range. I'm thinking an appraisal may be in order for taxes. I'm kind of doubting fair market value is that high. May be even less if the metal isn't silver...at any rate beating 700,000 to 1 odds feels great.

My main concern with later amending tax documents, is the chance it may get me audited. I don't know how common it is people make these types of IRS adjustments. Since my taxes are not generally that complicated I usually just use out of box software and not an accountant. Would be pretty nerve racking to sit down with an agent and explain all my contest entries, even if I haven't done anything wrong.
