The BBC has suspended Jeremy Clarkson following allegations of a fracas with a Top Gear producer.
The BBC2 show will not be broadcast this Sunday [independent.co.uk] while the BBC investigates the allegation.
Clarkson was already on a final warning from the BBC following a string of accusations of racism.
The BBC said: "Following a fracas with a BBC producer Jeremy Clarkson has been suspended pending an investigation. No one else has been suspended. Top Gear will not be broadcast this Sunday. The BBC will be making no further comment at this time."

I think Clarkson should become a part of the US Top Gear show. I think he would be hilarious making fun of a lot of the typical American car mentality.

Last week, he said he was just going to keep his head down and enjoy "a nice pint" until the "fracas" (BBC terminology for him taking a swing at producer Oisin Tymon, after a long, complicated location shoot) blew over.
From the looks of it this week, Clarkson is now fuming. London's Guardian [theguardian.com] reports that he went off on his BBC bosses during remarks at a charity auction on Thursday, calling them a name that sounds vaguely like "mucking fast cars."

The investigation, headed up by the chief of BBC Scotland, is expected to conclude next week, at which point BBC Director General Tony Hall must make the final call on Clarkson's fate.
A "tank" being ridden by a man dressed as the Stig has delivered a petition calling for the reinstatement of Jeremy Clarkson to the BBC.
