Top Gear cast to do new show for Amazon Prime (details in post 103)

The BBC has suspended Jeremy Clarkson following allegations of a fracas with a Top Gear producer.



The BBC2 show will not be broadcast this Sunday [independent.co.uk] while the BBC investigates the allegation.


Clarkson was already on a final warning from the BBC following a string of accusations of racism.


The BBC said: "Following a fracas with a BBC producer Jeremy Clarkson has been suspended pending an investigation. No one else has been suspended. Top Gear will not be broadcast this Sunday. The BBC will be making no further comment at this time."

I think BBC needs to completely rework the show and take it in a whole different direction. If they just try to copy the old show with new people I think it will fail. It shouldn't be tough to come up with some new angles and twists based on the new cast that would work without being directly compared to the old show.

Yup, after the new season started, everything fell apart so the show is on hold for now. Almost all of the original crew have left so most of the people who brainstormed up ideas are no longer there.

If Clarkson's show on Amazon has any success at all I don't care if BBC ever makes another Top Gear episode. Not sure if I would watch it if they do.

The Grand Tour will be filming in Nashville on November 21st. I saw a ticket application link from their page on facebook. If only I could justify having to fly to Nashville, or thinking I'd even get picked at all laugh out loud shake head

I just watched the first episode of the Grand Tour (which went live at 12:01 GMT, or about 6pm central time).

It was nearly everything I wanted it to be. Certainly better than the new Top Gear, not that that's saying much shake head

anybody else?

I did think a little bit that they've failed to move on, testing those three cars together was all they talked about in the last series of Top Gear they did, and they did this without talking about the one:1 or other cars that have arrived since then. maybe they'll pick that up eventually. and I sort of would have liked to see more in depth on the 488, since that sort of fell through the timing crack as well.

I think you missed the point. BBC failed to make that happen, amazon got it done with $$$.

excuse me if I think a show being mostly about how they aren't top gear isn't as good as they could be. This was more like top gear 1.5, not even a top gear 2.0. it's still a fun show, but I won't say I loved it nearly as much as others seem to.

I haven't had a chance to watch this yet so I don't know for sure what you are describing. But it does seem early to judge it based on one show.

If you listened closely they hinted that next week is more of an adventure style episode.

Hahaha the only negative review I've read if from some editor at BBC lol

I saw the first 5-10 minutes of the episode last night. I was kind of bored. Will have to go back and watch the entire episode.

But, watching in 4k, it was BEAUTIFUL!!!!!
