you can get the older books at the library for your Nook or Kindle with no waiting. They are def, not as popular as 50 Shades LMAO
OK, I've read the first two now. They're entertaining. But short. Now I have another series I'm talking myself out of spending money on. Embarrassment

Reading The Hangman's Daughter and World Mart (a free Kindle dystopian) and just got notice from the library that 3 books are in:

Fifty Shades Darker
Fifty Shades Freed
Insurgent

So looks like I'll read the smut real fast, then get Insurgent, then continue on with what I've already started!

The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. I'm halfway through and keep waiting for the part where it gets good.

has there been discussion on Fifty shades in this thread? I am halfway through the book and not getting what the hype is about? Is it because it is just about sex and no love?

I've read all three of the Fifty Shades trilogy. They were all right. I was tired of them by the third book. I guess I read too much smut, cause even the bondage stuff didn't shock me?!

I have now bought all of the Fever books. I'm reading the last one now. It's been an entertaining series! Thanks for the recommendation.

I was really not impressed with Fifty Shades and was disappointed that it was all hype. They were poorly written, repetitive books. Considering they are based off the Twilight series, I should have known better. laugh out loud

I was interested one day, to see what all the hype was about. So I read up on it at Goodreads and Amazon. Nono2 Seriously, it's fan-fiction with the names changed. This is the only thing she has ever published, and it's a fan-fic?! Roll

I wish I could make some crap, publish it, get people obsessed with it and end up with a movie deal out of it!! I know I can write some pretty crappy crap, too!

Sorry.

Shattered Faith. About the annulment process in the Catholic church. I knew many odd factoids about the church but did not know we have our own court! If so, why haven't priests been held accountable there as well as the regular legal courts? Facepalm It just makes me wonder if the church excommunicates these creeps.

I knew it wasn't a good idea when all my non-reading friends were raving about it. laugh out loud

Little over halfway through A Storm of Swords.

Mad

George R.R. Martin is a sonofabitch.

Tip for anybody who decides to read ASOIAF: don't let yourself start to like ANYBODY. They'll die. Seriously. I don't think that's even a spoiler anymore. He kills everyone you love. I'm half expecting to read that my own dog died in one of these farking books. Annoyed

If I hadn't been on the train this morning when I read in ASOS I'd have thrown my Kindle to the floor. The only solace I have is that !

Kind of why I like these books. I don't know what's going to happen. That's why I like Stephen King too. He'll kill the main characters too. It is frustrating, but it's entertaining!

I'm reading the Pale Demon the last Rachel Morgan book that's out right now. These have been light, easy reads. And luckily they haven't gotten too repetitive. I've found that's the main drawback to popular series, you can tell exactly what's going to happen next.

I recently finished A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith. I thoroughly enjoyed it. We (middle class Americans today) are so spoiled. Those people were POOR. It's set in the early 1900's in Brooklyn NY. Made me appreciate all that I have.

Woot I can't wait for this season of the show!!! When I read that chapter, I was so shocked, I couldn't actually believe it happened. I was in denial.

It does scare me though because there are some favorite characters of mine that I am afraid to see get killed off, and I can see him actually doing it. Frown I hope he doesn't though!

I'm wondering how the show is going to go... Whee
