Have you seen a doctor for this?! This just doesn't seem normal and definitely not right. Frown

Oh damn. He sounds amazingly brave and well-behaved (though is popping the thingies good? Embarrassment Sounds Yuk ). I'm so sorry that he's sick somehow. I'm glad y'all seem on top of it, though.

Weeeeell, search my posts about him. "Well behaved" is not one phrase I would use....

He probably shouldn't have popped them, but being a 7 year old boy, nothing is more fascinating than puss coming out of a wound.

My 7 year old son got what appeared to be 4 bites on his chest and underarm last week. He is allergic to everything and we were at the park all day 2 Saturdays ago so we assumed it was from then.

3 of the bites came to a head and he popped them. Some yellow discharge, but they cleaned up and healed nicely. The 4th one turned black after he popped it. On Friday the school called because it had popped again and it was bloody and full of puss.

Took him to the doctor. He has staph, possibly MRSA.
$80 in meds (with insurance). He has to take antibiotics twice a day. I also have to scrub him down with a medicated soap 3 times a week. In addition to that, all of us in the house have to swab the inside of our noses with a cream every day for a week.

He's a trooper though. He swallows his pills and pulls the bandaid off with no help. He won't let me touch the bandaid because I will rip it off.
Wow, I'm glad you were able to catch it quick enough.

Single parents are amazing in my book. I am starting to get nervous about being alone with my kids for a week. EEK! I've never flown solo for that long, but I'm determined to do it this time. laugh out loud DH is going to a conference and I usually go visit my parents or my sister... well - this time my parents are with my sister and the twins! My other sister does live here in town, so I do have backup if I get too Crazy.

laugh out loud He's a boy. Self-control isn't one of their strong suits. I'm amazed that he can swallow the pills! I think I was 10 before I had to do that. I still have a hard time with it sometimes.

The child is so behind this morning. Half hour until the bus comes and his only accomplishment has been going to the bathroom.
Not that I blame him, though... I didn't want to get out of bed this morning either.
Too bad we can't curl up and go back to sleep right this moment. Once he leaves for school, I can... So I'll settle for that, I guess. Teehee

Nice memory. Big Grin Nah, that was a cuzzo. My sister is nearly 29 and tonight, when I, the younger sister had to tell her how bad finances have been lately... She pretty much said, "Oh, guess that's why Mommy and Daddy want me to get a job. And one with benefits... so I guess, then they wouldn't have to like, pay for my health insurance and stuff."

Gee... ya think?! Chairbash

Gosh, that's scary. I hope he's doing good. Is it healing better now? Comfort

I have 3 boys...well behaved is all a matter of how you look at it. Are they nice and polite, yes. Can they rip a house to shreds in 3 seconds? Absolutely.

He is suffering no ill effects luckily. The one spot is still ugly, but not much puss and blood coming out now. The other 3 are almost gone.

Yep, that pretty much sums him up. He is polite, especially to others.

Oh, Ranting I cut myself on the hand this weekend doing something. It's not healing right. Might need to go have it checked out because of the staph.

The teacher from Jamie's school (he's the 8 year old) called to tell me how polite and helpful Jamie was. She said he was the most polite child she's had. I kept thinking, "Do you have the right kid?"

I'm glad he's doing better. I know that has to be stressful. hug

MY rant: After Jamie leaves for school, I go back to bed. Nick was up...he even talked to me. I get up at 8:45 to take a shower. Jack got up while I was in the shower. I heard him yelling at Nick. After I went back to bed, the boy WENT TO SLEEP. Mad Now he knows he is in trouble and is cleaning his room and his bathroom without me having said anything to him.

I sort of meant, well-behaved in terms of dealing with MRSA. Embarrassment

Glad the boy is doing relatively well, but I'm sorry that now you have your hand wound to worry about. Frown Comfort

Hey, at least he's doing the "right" thing now, right? Embarrassment

I love having a big ol' fight and crying before it's even 9am. I think things are really really getting to the point where it's just not worth it to me. I said something to the effect of, "I'm sorry that I'm a bit unconvinced that this constant uphill battle is worth it." And he replied back with, "Well maybe it isn't then." And we both couldn't hang up fast enough. Weeping Crying

And my "usual" doctor is all busy today! So I get to see some sort of underling instead. Mad

I have no freaking idea. The building is a fairly new condo so they had to run zero new wires. The guy at customer service today sort of admitted that no tech was needed. Now I'm just waiting for some computer technician to "send a signal".

I feel like I could use smoke signals faster at this point.
