On the topic of the Garnier...I need some advice. I found the skin renewal today for 2.48. So I picked up 4 and went to the price checker and sure enough it prompted for a $5 GC. I was so happy. Finished my shopping and went to my fav cashier. It did not prompt for a GC!!!! I explained that the price checker did, so she calls the GSTL. Great! This is the one that HATES me! He goes and checks at GS...no GC prompt. Checks the shelf and price checker and of course the price checker says GC. He comes back and wants me to show him on the shelf where it states the GC deal. I explained that there wasn't one. Then he proceeds to tell me that the GC deal is only when you buy another product with it. "That is how all the promotions work" I kindly explained that the Glade candle deal did not work that way. Then he wanted to argue with me about how the promos work. I ask if he could honor the GC deal since the price checker prompted for it. He said "no" and then walked away. Where did he go you ask? To stand behind my cashier to scrutinize my coupons. They were all legit!!! HA!

Ok so here is where I need your advice. Do I write an email to corporate? I am so mad about this. To me this is bait and switch. And this GSTL always has it out for me. WWYD? Thanks!

I just wanted to go ahead and post the rest of the story about the police showing up at my door regarding an instance at Target. There is a specific Target in my area that blatantly lets me know that they hate my coupon usage and even has the security officer follow me and "okay" my coupons when I check out. Needless to say, I don't shop there and haven't really for almost a month. Two and a half weeks ago I went to this Target to grab a couple of last minute items before a family weekend trip and to return a couple of items that I didn't get to use coupons for in my previous transactions. Security decided to try and reach for something to accuse me of and to detour me from shopping at the store and using so many coupons. They filed a police report stating that I had committed retail theft and return fraud. Of course, this freaked me out because I didn't walk out of the store with anything besides the few items I purchased and I definitely had receipts for the items that I returned. Security told the police that I was seen entering the store with empty Wal-Mart sacks (which I only had one of and were not empty, but in fact had my returns in it). They stated that I picked up several items in the store, paid very little at the registers, and then returned the items that I had picked up before leaving the store. Well, I did go through the store and pick up several items and did pay very little at the cash registers. I only used four excedrin and three revlon coupons in my transaction. I then went and returned the items that I had brought in with me. Security stated that I came in with empty bags, picked up the same merchandise that I had previously bought, and then returned it as if I had brought it in with me. Essentially, the cop said, getting the purchased merchandise free. Pretty slick huh? Too bad I had never even thought of this. The police showed up at our door last Tuesday night and I was out of town for work. Instead of resolving this over the phone, I was required to visit the police station today to watch the video tape, provide documentation of receipts, and present my side of the story. Funny thing is that the stories the security told were conflicting each other and didn't even make sense. I arrived at the police station today and waiting 35 minutes to speak with the officer. I was then shown the video tape, told what Target security said and was asked to explain what I did and didn't do. I basically had to defend myself. The police did not end up convicting me of anything and finally at the end of the visit informed me that the security guard at Target "was no longer with the company". FIRED! It was his word through another employee versus mine. If the police would have had a bad day, I could have a misdemeanor on my record for doing nothing wrong (except of course, pissing off Target employees with coupons). Just wanted to let everyone know that they can do anything they like with your credit card information and can file police reports for what they suspect or want to believe. I didn't even use my credit card that night for my purchase. I had stopped using it prior. They had to put the money back on the card for the return and decided to keep the information to file with the police. This ended up not being as big of a deal as I had expected, but I was very much inconvenienced with the whole thing and had to think about it for a week and put together a whole lot of information. Just wanted to make sure that everyone knew that using your credit card if not a good idea, especially since a lot of you know that your Target's do not really care for your coupon usage either. Sorry if I freaked people out over nothing. I guess it doesn't seem like nothing to me as the cops knocked on my door and I had to meet with a detective today.

Did you buy the items? It sounds like he was really out of line. You should have at least gotten 2 gift cards, right? The ad as it was posted in my store said 1 gc for 2 items purchased. The stories of 1 for every item is ymmv. But you should have gotten at least 2 gift cards if you bought 4 items.

I just read in the Target Deal thread that if the item is under $5 it will not prompt the register for the giftcard even if it shows on the price checker. I have not found any peelies so I have not bought any... yet. Does somebody out there have more than they can use? I could use em. Wink

Does anyone need the pediasure coupons that were in the inserts this weekend? I have several that I'm not going to be needing.

Which Target was this at? I also have the same question as the person below. Any time you walk through a store with shopping bags, then try and return, you're just asking for trouble. People do pick up stuff and try to return it all the time, so that's why you should always return right after you walk in the door.

Also, just so you know, police can't convict you of any crime, just arrest and charge you. You had to plead or go to trial to be convicted and have the crime on your record.

Quote from angeldown :
the thing is why you didn't do the return before you began shopping at target? I previously did the same thing as you did but then decided it was better to do the return before my shopping so that target staff would not think I was shoplifting.

I picked up some of those Dove facial cleansing pillows at Target on clearance for less than $2/box. The $3.50 coupon for the little machine thingy does scan. The machine thingy is on clearance at my KMart for $6, after the $3.50 coupon, I figured $2.50 wasn't too bad, since I have a bunch of refills - and I paid the $2.50 with my dog food overage.

Couldn't decide if this should be in KMart or Target thread, so I figured chit chat was safe!
