Um it was horrendous for me. My whole pregnancy was issue after issue, I had to have an ultrasound every other week, no exaggeration. By the end, my kid had more ultrasound pics than newborn pics. We had one every day for the last two weeks of my pregnancy. We had constant monitoring and restrictions. then they had to induce me, I was induced for almost 48 hours and wouldn't dilate so then had to go for the big C. Then didn't make enough milk for the kid, which was awful so we had to supplement from the start, pumping 45 min at a time for 2oz didn't work well so we stopped after 6 weeks. Only then did I actually start healing since I wasn't putting my body through hell. I couldn't feel the tops of my feet until the kid was 7 months old due to some weird nerve issue.

That's why I keep buying durex. Never again.
Quote from MommieMara :
My first my morning sickness was so bad I was hospitalized for dehydration a few times. I threw up all day long everything made me sick it was horrible. Then I got pre eclmapsia and almost had her at 27 weeks spent the rest of the pregnancy on bed rest in and out of the hosptal. At 33 weeks my water broke. They kept me pregnant another week while pumping me full of steriods laying at an angle. I was pumped full of crap to stop my labor that made me so sick and jittery. Fially they couldn't stop it anymore. At 34 weeks I spent 3 days in full on active labor. I kept refusing a C section unless the baby was in distress. I was passing out between contractions then would wake up cussing as soon as another hit. Pass out again soon as it ended only to pick up in mid cussing with the next one. After hours of that I got an epidural I loved that thing. I hit 10 nurse said give a test push I did she screamed stop and went running out for a Dr. Everything went nuts because she was coming premature and they needed all these Drs and stuff. 2 pushes later the whole baby came flying out none of that head firsst stuff. I tore so badly it took over an hour to stich things back up.

I went on to have 2 more so far and want a 4th lol. I still miss being pregnant but I can tell you by the end of each pregnancy I swore that child was the last LMAO
Okay, wow, now I don't feel so bad about my pregnancy! EEK!

Wow Samantha - that must have been awful! If I were in that situation, and they told me I was likely to have a similar experience the next baby, I probably would stock up on the durex, too!

Mine wasn't bad enough to make me not want kids - it was hell, but that sweet little baby that comes at the end was definitely worth it! My delivery wasn't too far from yours Mara (expect for your horrible time in the hospital!) - my water broke at 34 weeks, but they didn't try to "keep me pregnant!" EEK! I can't believe that! How many years ago was that? That's crazy! They won't do that today. Every midwife and OBGYN I know says that once the water breaks, the baby needs to be out in 24 hours! I slept through a lot of my labor, in between the contractions and the blood pressure monitor going off every 15 minutes. (Lovely way to sleep! laugh out loud)

I was lucky where I had my baby premature though - it was at one of the best children's hospitals in the country. And the delivery room was FULL of people I didn't know when they were waiting and setting up for the baby. I was totally naive at the time - I had NO idea how much care a baby 6 weeks premature would need. I'm really scared the next baby I have will be preemie - I HATED that part. Had to stay three days in the mother/baby unit, but I didn't have my baby. Weeping I don't know if I could do it again - I never slept more than 3 hours a night, and I stayed in the hospital for the next six days on the padded bench in his room in the children's wing after they moved him out of the NICU. Not being able to hold your baby is so horrible. I'd just stand there, all day and night, holding his tiny little hand through the incubator and cry.

I don't really want to do that again, but if I had to go through it over for another baby, I would. He's almost two now, he's happy and healthy. Smilie So it turned out all right in the end. Big Grin

Rofl2 I was thinking the same thing too. It sounds like there are some women who have "allowances", but I think (HOPE!)that's more of a wording thing than a reality. I do understand that some relationships are that way though... dude handles the finances and budget, and figures out what his wife can spend to keep them within that budget, but it's still a little cringey to me. I like to be in charge of the money. If not "the" money... shared money, then MY money, mostly because I'm super anal-retentive about spending and budgeting and it's better for me to do it then for anyone to have to live with me if I'm not doing it. laugh out loud
LMAO

I'm the SAME way! I do all the finances. But DH and I talk about purchases either of us make. Any item over $25. We just figure it's considerate to run things by each other. But for groceries and stuff, most of the time he doesn't really object to what I get, because he knows I'll ignore him and get it anyway. LMAO He's not really crazy with the whole stocking up on stuff while it's free/cheap, but he's not complaining either when he occasionally has extra money for video games. laugh out loud

Ok....so my dh is out of town till sunday...and I literally don't know what to do with myself!! My dd is sleeping so Shopping is a no go...that's what tommorow and Sunday are for!!!

I'm literally so excited about being able to spend as much time on sd, shopping, and dancing around to music without dh giving me crap I don't know what to do with myself!!!

My dh loves that I save money...but he's very into the buying things we need and not just b/c it's cheap or free....i'm in control of all of the finances, so it's easy to hide a lot of my shopping lol....I just have to be careful not go overboard and make sure I pay the bills first.

I really need to clean, but I figure I have till late sunday night so what's the hurry right???

I was just curious how old everyone is??? I'm 25....I work with a lot of teenagers and a lot of times I feel really old...and I get a lot of teasing from everyone I work with about my q usage...but I've got two of them hooked!!
Yay for you getting a weekend to yourself! I'd like that - not having DH hovering over the shopping cart or over me when I'm online. Teehee

I'm 24. I work at an insurance agency, so no teenagers there. But I feel really old, too! I actually get along better with people 10 years older than me, mostly because people my age aren't married with kids - they're out clubbing and drinking! And for me, that lifestyle ended before I even turned 21. Big Grin Most people that meet me think I'm 30 - not the greatest compliment, but mostly they say I just seem older, not look older. Thanks.... I guess. Coverlaugh It's probably because I've had a lot happen in the last 10 years. My mom, who was my best friend in the whole world, died when I was in my teens, my husband, who was my fiance at the time, spent 1 year and a half in Iraq - and then I got married at 22, and had baby at 23. So yeah, that'll make anyone grow up pretty quick. (Well, maybe not people like Britney Spears, but normal people LMAO)

[QUOTE=imnotanasshat;10512129]Hi!

Yep, Durex beeps on the trial size (and I'm assuming anything else under the $2 face value of the coupon---if they even make anything that's under $2 besides the 2-packs), but the coupon doesn't exclude trials, so...

Just Sunday, I had this q shot down at Speedway in KC with the excuse that "this is too small to read, but I bet somewhere in the fine print it says not good on trial size and that's why it beeped."Confused

I wouldn't have cared so much, but those pesky Durex are HARD to find, and when I see a few (or a dozen...or a score), I *want* them...but only with the accompanying overage. nod

HTH

I finally got my 1st 2 Durex today. heart They beeped and the 50 ish woman snickered then put them through. At the end of my transaction she asked me where I found the trial packs. After I shared with her in the trial section , she smiled and said," yeah.. I need a few for a trial!" EEK! LOL I hope I see her again.nod She did not fit the fast fun Q friendly profile.shake head There were only 2 cashiers to choose from and she smiled at me soo there I went. I was blessed for once! Downtown Atlanta has severe weather damage from tonights tornado. I wonder if the Target's there will be open with generators tomorrow since most power is out per the news and a pal. I do not got there but hope for the best for those who do. Smilie I taped one of the Durex to the door inside the garage that he enters.Don't worry the kids never use it unless I am chauffering them somewhere. I hope it makes him smile!

Ok seriously, WTH is the deal with people saying "I get $xx a week for food, or I hubby gives me $xx a week." Are we living in the fricken 1960's? Are both names not on the checking acct?

Sorry, I just don't understand that at all. Maybe it was the way it was worded.
I was one of the ones to first state my spending allowances. It does sound horrible without explanation. So let me explain. My husband is an accountant/financial advisor so he has to have a budget for every expenditure we might have/need. Every portion of his paychecks are budgeted to a specific spending. For example $400 to car, $200 to T/CVS/Walgreens, $200 to clothes, etc. I am on the bank account as a joint holder but we have agreed upon his budget so I try to stick to it as best as possible as to not screw anything up.

Ok, so for that being said I just wanted to thank everyone here for teaching me how to save so much money. I just started to coupon shop last month as one of my New Years resolutions was to stop spending so much freaking money. I hope none of you freak a bout this, but I was spending on average $800 a month at TEEK! So now with my $600 a month savings from T, my husband is budgeting a Personal Trainer (per my request) for me. Yay. Good bye pregnancy weight.Strong

Hope this is more understandable.

My kid is a happy healthy 13 months. I say it's because of all the ice cream I ate during pregnancy.

My niece was a preemie, I feel for you. She was born 9 weeks early and in the hospital for 2 months. They still want another one though too.

LMAO That's awesome!

But that looks like a LOT of work! And I'm all for recycling, but I don't think I would carry around a bag made of grocery bags. Big Grin

Neat idea, though.

I think I'll just continue using them for trash bags and recycling. Smilie

ugh....my godmother's daughter called me "like 30" the other day....and I don't think she meant it in a good way lol....it's been kind of hard for me to make friends b/c like you said most people our age are out clubbing and drinking....who wants to be hungover when you have to run after a rambunctious two year old all day??? I think I just grew up a lot faster when I had a kid b/c most of my friends have kids...but still live like they don't sometimes....I know everyone needs to go out and have a good time...but I'd rather play with my kid than get drunk, but thats just me.

"Making a messenger bag out of plastic bags. Oh yeah!" LMAO

I SO want to do this with all Target bags! Bigeye I'm wondering though, if you're ironing over wax paper to protect your iron from the plastic, what's protecting your iron from the wax you're melting on the wax paper? Or does that not happen?

Ohh, if only I had a sewing machine (and happened to know how to use it Stick Out Tongue). This might be worth picking up a cheapy machine atTarget, along with a cheap iron, and some parchment paper to try out. Oh, and learning how to sew. This kind of craft project is right up my alley!

This guy's wacky sense of creativity reminds me of Todd Oldham back when he did segments for MTV's House of Style (anyone even remember that? Back when Cindy Crawford was still a supermodel? Rofl2) and he made some craaazy stuff.

Are you talking about that thing that's on infomercials and QVC and stuff? I saw something that sounds like what you're describing recently during my insomnia-induced late night tv/early morning advertising watching and was really interested in picking one up specifically for the lack of chemicals and the washable cloth pad.

If that's the one you're talking about, can you tell me the name? I might just order one online or see if I can pick one up on fleabay. I really heart the idea of it.

yeah its a diffrent brand than the one on QVC but same type thing. I have a steamfast aurora Smilie I reallyl like mine

Well I was told it would be better to try and keep me pregnant a bit longer to get in steriods so I was in the hospital bed slightly elevated with 50 million monitors and being pumped full of antibiotics. I was warned about the risk of infection but they said with all the monitoring they could have the baby out at the first sign of anyting and the benifits of staying in a bit longer out to get the steriods out weighed the risk of infection. In my case I think they were right because in the end she was 6 weeks early and was able to breath just fine on her own so I do believe it was the right call Smilie

Since it was asked I'm 30 my children are 7, 4 and 22 months old will there be a 4th hummmmm not sure depends on our finaces and how the transition out of the Army goes for my husband and how good of a job he picks up once he finishes school. Oh and of course if Target keeps having cheap diapers right JK

Ok who's the SDer that just out bid me on the $5/$25 on ebay. Only an SDer would bid $6 for a $5 off coupon lol

I just went to check out how much they're generally going for, and it cracked me up to see people who are selling the 5/25 toy coupons, and the one who scanned in a 5/75 with the barcode perfectly usable. I wonder how many people have copied that picture, printed it out, and used it. It'd serve that seller right. LMAO Every time I do a search for Target coupons, I feel so badly for people who haven't discovered SD. Not that I want them to, necessarily Evil, but still. Stick Out Tongue
